  1. Why would a team NOT walk Mauer? He's clutch!
  2. An inside joke, more or less, whose shelf life runs out right about... now.
  3. Santana should give Schafer some Bunt Mentorin'.
  4. Says the man who played LF and whose OPS+ was 76 and 80 for the two pennant winners he played on, and earned good money for the era while doing so.
  5. Spoiler alert: try to knock them all down, every time, the same way each time, because they don't move on their own.
  6. "Climb on my back, boys, I'm carrying you today," said Shane Robinson never. / two runs today notwithstanding
  7. Another non-clutch walk by Mauer.
  8. You probably like her distant cousin, then. http://larrybrownsports.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Tim-Lincecum-John-Smoltz-260x225.jpg
  9. It's almost like he KNEW the batter was left handed and this was opportunity knocking.
  10. Chief's punch line contest doesn't seem to have gained traction today. Too bad, it seemed like a good one. How about a fill in the blank contest, instead?
  11. That could indeed be a fair description of the symptom.
  12. My browser history will stand up to scrutiny. How many fellow TDers can make that same bluff?
  13. Yeah, by the third one my browser finally caught up. Running the game at the same time as I do Google searches seems to be more than this laptop can manage.

  15. Chief's ultra-helpful flippancy aside do you mean the photos some users have for their accounts? (E.g. my Haight-Ashbury street sign?) You can do that yourself if you want. Locate some suitable picture you like, for instance via a Google image search.Mouse-click the URL of the picture (usually has JPG or GIF as the file extension) to copy, to paste later. (Or, you can plan to just type the lengthy URL by hand when the time comes.)Then in another window go to your TD "My Settings" page by clicking on your username near the top of most TD pages. Near the top of General Settings you should see "Change my photo...". Click that.Enter the URL from above into the form. Click Done.Check any page where you have posted, to see how it looks.Admire.Wait to hear murmurs of admiration from others. (And keep waiting, and waiting...)
  16. Yeah, guilty of indecision. So I went back and put up both. "This. Could. Be. Epic."
  17. He apparently said enough that finally crossed a line. Arguing balls and strikes probably - at some point the umpire says that's enough, it's not arguable, and one more word triggers the thumb. That in turn allows the manager to turn back and really tell the ump what he thinks, before he departs for good. Dickbert said the ump is a call-up from the minors. I suppose some managers want to try to test him, and/or bend his will to some purpose.
  18. Oh. You'll see that I went with a different take.
  19. Q: What did Picasso say on his day off? A: Hm, I'm drawing a blank.
  20. Yay! Yay! Say, remind me again, why we are whispering?
  21. Surprise surprise surprise.
  22. Yep, Santana's not seizing the opportunity he's being given this season.
