  1. Vanimal walks into a bar... The Priest and Rabbi Ducked... Horse walks into a bar... Vanimal is tending bar and asks why the long face. Horse say evolutionary design. Vanimal doesn't understand what the horse said and gives up 9 runs in 1 inning.
  2. Why did the Vanimal cross the road?
  3. Knock Knock Who's there? Vanimal!!! Like I'm letting you in!!!
  4. Vanimal walks into a bar. Bartender says... Why'd you give up so many runs. Give me those stupid glasses.
  5. Nothing like blowing a joke on the Internet!!! BTW... Every night is a slendid night for baseball.
  6. Try some optimism... A pessimist like yourself... Says... It can get any worse! An optimist like me... Says... Oh yes it can!!!
  7. Hicks stung one... My hat is gonna hang on that for a minute or two.
  8. Haven't you ever seen an 8 run comeback?
  9. You'd think some of the squared up balls would find a glove by accident. at least!
  10. LOL... Myself... I disliked enjoying Royals Stadium. That City is a dive and it doesn't deserve fountains and the best tasting barbecue in the country. As for Milwaukee... I like the city itself a lot. Plenty of Waterfront... Interesting Sites and you are pleasantly surprised by beer that comes out of the shower heads and lawn sprinklers. The main problem with Milwaukee is the cheese heads. It's weird and I don't know why but Wisconsin seems to have a lot of Packer and Badger fans.
  11. On Hicks we probably do... On the punting... Not so much. They ain't planning a parade route and buying confetti yet but I think they expect the team to be competitive and will try to fix a problem if they can. They just may not fix it the way you or I would.
  12. I don't think the Twins view 2013 as a throwaway season. They would have to view it as a challenging season but I don't think they will say... the season doesn't matter cuz we are going to suck anyway. I don't know what to do with Hicks... 35 at bats is not remotely close enough to make an assessment on anyone and Jason Heyward is hitting almost as bad after the same amount of at bats and I doubt they will be sending him down to Gwinnett. The only thing that goes thru my mind is how overmatched he appears thus far and it's hard to shake that as each game goes in the books. I guess I just wanted to say... I don't think the Twins are ready to punt 2013 and the decision they have to make with Hicks shouldn't be viewed from that standpoint.
  13. From my Youth... Danny Goodwin and Bombo Rivera.
  14. Ben Revere... Now that's He's gone... It's gonna be Sam Deduno.
  15. If they want him... They are going to have to go get him. I'd be surprised if he just fell to our waiver position but he just might... The Rangers surely tried to move him via trade before DFA. Obviously no takers as of yet. I'm not sure what's going on. This is a real tough call in my opinion. I'll just agree with you Jokin... And Say... I like him. A little Pop and speed and High average.
  16. I don't want to give up on Hicks... That's the last thing I want to do... I agree with you... except for one thing. Mastro may not be able to play every day. He could get dinged up or DL'ed or slump badly himself or just be pinch hit for. The Twins don't really have a CF option if Hicks and Benson continue to struggle. We need a back up if Hicks has to be sent down. I like Borbon... I've seen him play quite a few times. I've never really understood why the Rangers haven't latched on to him. This conversation is probably all for naught tho... I can't see any reason why the Astro's wouldn't claim him. I
  17. I think the sensible thing to do is keeping give Hicks a chance to straighten out (it gets harder to say that everyday). The main problem is that Benson is the only viable CF replacement. I haven't seen Joe play in Rochester so far this year but his stats suggest that he isn't knocking the door down either. Now... You are looking at a half way decent CF option in Borbon who has potentially become available... A CF who can at the very least backup Mastro... If not start. And if you pass him by to wait for Hicks to come around. What happens if Hicks doesn't come around? Will there be a better option than Borbon available if you have to come to the conclusion that Hicks needs AAA time. If that happens... We are looking at Clete Thomas, Brandon Boggs or Scottie Pods for CF and I'm not sure that any of them are the best CF options from a defense standpoint. This team kinda has it's eggs in the Hicks Basket right now. We don't have a fall back option on the roster. Tricky situation... I say pick him up if you can. Then the question becomes... Who do we knock off the 40 man?
  18. With Hicks I'm just not sure... Normally... I'd commit to a rookie and let him work out his kinks for awhile. I don't want to do anything knee jerk after a handful of games. He's just struggling way too much. Perhaps if he was just struggling a little but a little doesn't describe what's happening. I hope he rights the ship real quick... The longer this goes on the harder it will be to keep in the majors.
  19. It makes sense for our current situation. I'm for it. Who would we release from the 40 man?
  20. I agree with you Cake... I only posted because I felt that Correia was painted a certain way. For example... not experienced pitching into the 8th. Very few starters are and I just wanted to provide some balance because he seemed to be painted like he was part of a limited club of pitchers that just can't go 8. My opinion on Correia overall is pretty simple. He wasn't my first choice and I'm not going to declare him a successful signing yet. However... I do feel that the off season hand wringing was premature and the comments "that you don't put an average pitcher on the mound in that situation" made by some were not deserved. He was clearly well above average on April 8th, 2013.
  21. A picture is being painted here... In Fairness... If you throw out the 15 times that Kevin Correia threw 6 innings in 2012... Yes it is true that Kevin Correia only pitched OVER 6 innings 3 times. Yet he did throw 6 innings 18 times. It depends on how you want to paint it. Jordan Zimmerman never pitched over 7 innings in 2012. I get that Correia isn't Clayton Kershaw. However, in the era of Pitch Counts. Starting Pitchers throwing over 7 innings is a rare thing and you don't get the chance to throw over 7 innings unless your pitch count says you can. His Pitch Count was 84! 12 Pitches per inning. A 7 inning shut-out, 5 hits and 1 free pass and he was one batter over the minimum from the 3rd inning to the 8th.
  22. Rick Ankiel may go down in history as the most out of control baseball player ever. Pitcher... Rushed to the big leagues only to miss the strike zone by yards consistently... Re-invents himself and makes it back to the big leagues with prodigious power only to produce strike outs at a stunning rate. He's like "the natural" but completely flawed.
  23. I will pay the 15 to watch batting practice... If they give me my 100 dollars back for the rainout last year. That's the policy I want gone!!!
  24. He's gotta go down... Come back up later. His heart has got to be in his throat right now. I know he doesn't want to go down but I'm sure he doesn't want what he's going thru right now either. This ain't a slump... This is Jeez... All these pitchers can throw.
