  1. Just guessing... But the lineup may be a little Verlander relief for Hicks.
  2. I didn't see the game... It does seem a bit harsh to call for his replacement based on one game. I assume that Gardenhire will blow another one or seven before the year is out and I assume that any replacement for Gardenhire will blow one or seven before the year is out.
  3. I'll defend ya Spidey... His numbers don't suggest Killing it but the hard contact he makes does. I really think Arcia is a small sample size right now. If he keeps hitting it hard(killing it). Those numbers may rise real quick and make the decision to send him down a difficult one.
  4. Let's see... It's April 29th, 2013... My Watch says 3:28PM Central Time. I'd say April 29th, 2013... 3:29PM Central time.
  5. Arcia is either sent down for more seasoning or Wilken is let go. If Wilkin is let go.... They will find enough at bats for everyone to get a decent amount of playing time. If they can't find enough at bats for all the quality players on this club... There will be no argument for keeping Gardenhire any longer.
  6. A. I don't think he needs to be a Cy Young candidate... That's a tough expectation. B. If the season ended today... I don't think he is a Cy Young Candidate. C. Can he suddenly emerge as simply a decent starter? Yes he can... But I wouldn't call it sudden. He's been uptrending.
  7. With Pelfrey... I think getting better will start with keeping the ball down. His two-seamer is his bread and butter. Those things get tattooed up in the zone. Up in the zone it's nothing more than a flat fastball. Down in the zone... You get better downward movement and grounders. I'll simply be watching for how he works the bottom of the zone. If he doesn't find it... The Tigers will have some fun today. I think he can do it... I'm hoping anyway.
  8. Seth, You and others have summed it up perfectly... It's a tried and true method of fielding a baseball... Play the ball... Don't let the ball play you. It's a stupid little sentence that means a lot.
  9. I'll let others discuss luck and BABIP and that stuff. Thus Far... I've seen all of Correia starts and I think he's lucky because no one is hitting him very hard. Is that luck or good pitching? Personally I'll go with the latter. Watch Pelfrey and they are hitting him hard. Even the outs are stroked with Pelfrey. You can see a clear difference. It's my opinion... but I think Correia has earned his numbers so far.
  10. I have no idea what is happening... How could I... I'm not in the locker room... But... In my opinion... This is just normal stuff that happens. I doubt (I don't know) but I doubt... that Gardy or the coaches have remained silent with certain defensive issues with Plouffe and all of sudden just said that's it... You are being benched leaving Trevor to wonder why. This is what Managers do... They have expectations and if the player isn't responding to those expectations... A message is sent with some time on the pine. Sometimes it's stuff as simple as moving your feet to pick up a grounder. You'd be amazed how casual players can be at times and how much it can matter. The length of time on the pine would depend on how Trevor reacts to it. I imagine that Trevor understands now and he will be re-inserted back into the lineup. It's usually more up to Trevor than up to Gardy. If he was crushing the ball... The manager would weigh the offensive loss when trying to send this type of message. Trevor isn't crushing it right now so he was out of the lineup Saturday and Sunday and we won both games. Now... If this should be public... That's another question...
  11. I have been wrong a million times so I won't type the words "I told you so". Oops I actually just typed "I told you so" and I just did it again... but hopefully the context is understandable. I really feel I'm in good position here... Because I was not one of those who were wringing their hands over the Correia signing in the off-season. I looked at his game by game logs from last year and the year before and thought to myself... If he can just do what he did last year he will work out great for us... Maybe not amazing(like he has been so far) but I thought he could give us the chance to win some games and that was something we didn't have a lot of in 2012. On TD... Correia was the poster boy for a failed off season. We were all feeling good (most of us) about the Span and Revere trades and that good feeling went away hard as soon as Correia was inked to a contract. Very few were talking about Worley, May and Meyer anymore... OMG Correia had taken over the sentiment of TD. I won't stand here and type ". .... ... .." It's a long season... I think it's prudent to wait... For actual failure before being upset.
  12. Apprehended... Police still combing over the property... Yellow tape gone... Gawkers gone... Traffic back to normal.
  13. Colorado was trying something similiar last year. I also think that day will come. Not far off.
  14. 97 pitches... The decision had to be pitch count.
  15. I kinda wish he would have caught that. Because he didn't catch it and because he dropped that ball in game one. Seth is gonna have to defend him defensively in a thread coming soon from someone.
  16. Did Blyleven just predict a Kinsler steal down five runs in the 8th. I think he did.
  17. I got the transcript... Gardy: What happened... He was clearly safe. Blue: Ron I got a good look... Beltre caught it clean off the hop... In time. Gardy: I'm gonna throw eggs at your car. Blue: It's a rental Ron... I'm already spitting watermelon seeds inside. Gardy: You are so blind... You... You... Blue: how blind am I? Gardy: You are so Blind... You... You need Glasses. Blue: Bah Doom Boom Gardy: he wasn't Tagged... Blue: It was a force Ron. Gardy: If you say so... I need Glasses Man. Blue: I'm gonna toss you now... We gotta move on.
  18. I think we can think about a possible CG now
  19. Atta Boy... Umm... Atta adult. Carroll.
  20. Hook slide on a force play... Ahh them rookies.
  21. Ill settle for Arcia at third one out.
  22. 97 pitches... That should be it for Ogando.
  23. I was talking with a police officer friend awhile back and I said to him " you must run across some interesting characters. He said " you have no idea" and when I chuckled at that... He said... I'm serious... You really have no idea... If people knew how many wacked out people are around. They'd all buy farms to get away from them".
  24. I do to... But... The operation outside looks expensive.
