  1. Still a couple of wings left. You're just in time, we're about to make soup with the rest.
  2. The seemingly inevitable return of Gibson to Gibson-like futility in the 5th almost kept this from happening for me. But something about the fun mix of plunk-magnet Cruz, Astudillo's one-man circus, Baldelli's unfolding influence, and everybody else seemingly forgetting that they sucked last year has made this waaay more interesting than I expected.
  3. Yup. Like the commentator said... everybody knew it was coming, and yet the results are the same. If Buxton had debuted in the early 80's, we'd already be thinking about his chances of breaking Brock's record. Well, I would, anyway.
  4. Perfect summary of his weird ability mismatch. It seems like a long time ago that he was posting .400 obp's in the low and mid-minors.
  5. I'm probably hoping for a little too much by wanting to see the late-inning heroics trifecta of a hit, a steal, and a catch. Because "Chubby people also run." - Willians Astuldillo, 2018.
  6. Austin's not going to win a Gold Glove, but his defense is better than I expected.
  7. Yup. Bad Twins offenses used to be able to load 'em up with no outs and then go scoreless the old-fashioned way, with strikeouts, force outs at home, and fly outs too shallow to tag on. This offense is a pale imitation. Pale, I say!
  8. http://3.bp.blogspot.com/-cuUnFGleqy8/Tmxbbby0BRI/AAAAAAAAB68/Wb2fkAO7QQQ/s1600/Challenge-Accepted+toilet.jpg
  9. So much more tasteful and family-friendly than the thankfully short-lived 'Rally Jocks!' tradition...
  10. I was intrigued until this turned into a story problem.
  11. Thought I'd add that in case anyone had forgotten. Like maybe Gordon.
  12. And a heads-up baserunning play to finish it off. I'm almost surprised he didn't ride in on a unicorn.
  13. I started to get up to go look anxiously out the window, and then I remembered I'm in Los Angeles.
  14. Eva Green does not understand this post. http://www.007.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/VESPER-LYND_EVA-GREEN_Gallery-200x300.png
  15. For sure. But just seeing 'walk' and 'Astudillo' in the same sentence makes me think 'improbable' and 'missed opportunity for wacky fun'.
  16. Such a catchy name, and fun to say. Would make a good song lyric...
  17. In accordance with FAA regulations, the sound barrier was not exceeded.
  18. Erring on the side of caution? Maybe not even erring, just caution. I've not kept up with Baldelli's stated intentions, but Pineda's arm is potentially as fragile as it is powerful at this point.
  19. Thinking that myself. And to go with that thought, I'd rather hope for hitting to come around than pitching.
  20. Possible All Star if somebody vandalizes his car...
  21. I like to think it was his dad, but... Philly, so who knows.
  22. Saw a kid in Philly get punched by a grownup for dropping one once. Does that count?
