  1. It would be helpful if Goin were to point out to Molitor that even a left-handed pair of scissors could get a hit off of Jepsen.
  2. I smell a shot at a minor league pitching coach job in a certain contact-friendly organization...
  3. Yeah, he made it into one yesterday. Of course MLB still has its prejudices, and he wasn't officially credited, but some day... some day.
  4. Great starting pitching, extra base hits, competent fielding, late insurance runs... Only the uniforms give them away.
  5. Back from his brief tour in the adult film industry. Looks like things didn't work out aboard the S.S. Rough Service...
  6. Exactly the way the old gypsy fortune teller said it would happen!
  7. They do if they're Twins and their manager tells them to bunt...
  8. They're really not that bad if you get to know them a little better... http://johndotorgslashblog.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/superbad-cops.jpg
  9. The whole Hatfields/McCoys business of pitch count aside, the starting pitching has reached a point where any starter who can leave the game after six with a lead should maybe just get a handshake, a cigar, and a bag of ice. The pen's a mess, true enough, but a kid like Duffey could use a strong game line and a bit less wear on the arm as a little boost to build on for the next start. That, and leaving rookie/young pitchers in too long was one of my least favorite Roaming Gnome foibles.
  10. If nothing else, you avoid the unpleasantness of fitting Einstein's definition of insanity. In other news, this one's in the bag! Double digit wins, here we come!!! http://blog.nuclearsecrecy.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/duck-and-cover-drill.jpg
  11. Don't tell nobody, but I'm already there, bro. That reminds me, Charlene's guardin' the airboat, and she gets a little grouchy if she don't get her mid-afternoon live chicken... http://www.pbcairboatclub.com/images/show.jpg
  12. Polanco apparently did not have the jinx meme forwarded to his phone, so that's good.
  13. At least now I'll know what went wrong when my posts suddenly become the site's sole beta test subject for the controversial new ' dislike ' button.
  14. Minus the cool airplane scenes? If we're going to do this, let's do it right. http://66.media.tumblr.com/24a69eff43f1136675a6eec51b261977/tumblr_neqzq9KMrk1u3o8rto2_500.jpg

  16. Well, if you have to. But just so we're clear, I can't really cause the Twins to blow the lead just by mentioning it. Just predict it, with the approximate reliability of forecasting a traffic light changing from red to green... Hope the comforting of the friend who lost the cat goes well. Maybe the Twins will fight off the jinx and brighten up your day with a win.
  17. Oooh. My 'like' wasn't for the 'checking out' comment, Crark.
  18. So the Twins are halfway to a win without trailing in the game, which make it the... second time that's happened this year? And now my jinxing it can take the blame for the Twins blowing another lead later on. That, and the worst bullpen in baseball....
  19. Yup, actually a nasty sub-category called Pop Culture Tourette's. 'English Patient' references are a fairly benign symptom compared to a full-blown 'Pulp Fiction' attack.
  20. Oh, fine, but can't we call it a romantic comedy, so watching it is less like dressing up in drag? Potayetow, Potahhtow, I guess. http://anotherimg.dazedgroup.netdna-cdn.com/786/azure/another-prod/350/0/350315.jpg
  21. Whenever someone conks their head and pretends nothing happened I point and yell "English Patient" as if we were playing Charades.
  22. Can anyone play? Ok, I'll start off with 'Sleepless in Seattle'. You can't really count a movie as a chick flick when it contains probably the greatest 30 second deconstruction of chick flicks ever committed to film: My personal favorite: Victor Garber, sobbing into his hands in response to Hanks' recap: "Trini Lopez!"
  23. The only thing that made the movie remotely tolerable for me was the de Havilland Tiger Moth. The grace, the beauty, the relentless, Freddie Krueger-esque elimination of main characters...
  24. I'll be on the patio for this one, getting ready for my audience participation tribute to the title character... http://www.ap.org/explore/the-burning-monk/assets/img/3_ThePhotograph_slideshow_7.jpg I imagine Chief feigning reluctance before agreeing to assist, but that may be my excessive faith in others talking...
