  1. There's a DH/3B on New Britain's team that might be able to help fill the void
  2. Twins off the schnide no longer BABIP of .000 - Nice job Plouffe We are so unlucky
  3. Not that I'm scouring sports betting websites, but a moneyline of -330 has to be pretty rare.
  4. I bet your ISO was through the roof
  5. O/U on Yu's Game Score is 98.5
  6. I was actually thinking to myself earlier... "is there a sports betting website out there that makes lines on no hitters in individual games?"
  7. Quoting myself... Sorry... Then I would quickly turn around and send Burton through waivers and see what happens.
  8. I'd take Victor Black - Mid teens rated in the org. Relief pitcher (closer) at AAA WHIP around 1.0 K/9 around 12 Twins should expect to pick up like 2mil of the ~3mil remaining
  9. Then we wouldn't have Sulbaran
  10. The only other 1B on the roster seems like a nothing prospect to me (sub 700 OPS if I remember correctly). I suspect, given that he's at Low A and the Twins used their "foreign player without a foreign league" exemption to get him on the team, he will not see the field more than 3 times a week.
  11. Having Willingham here in 2014 makes it hard to justify bringing back Morneau, even at a reasonable price. Of the two, I'd rather roll the dice with Morneau in 2014. If someone claims Willingham, I say "thanks for the memories, Josh," and send him to his new team.
  12. Buxton Rosario Mauer Morales Sano Arcia Dozier Hicks Florimon Bench: Plouffe, Colabello, Escobar, Pinto Play ball! (OK maybe that's April 2015)
  13. What about finding a new home for Willingham, which gives us some flexibility to DH Arcia (or Morneau, or Mauer, or Sano) and shifting Rosario to the OF and keeping our 2013 Middle Infield in tact? We're seeing that more and more, I feel. Super-utility types (of Rosario's ilk) that can play some 2B and wherever you want to slot him into the OF. That gives good flexibility to ramp up the infield defense with ground-ball heavy pitchers on the mound and/or mix in some off days for a bunch of different guys without massively messing with the lineup.
  14. 2nd the motion on Kendrys, by the way. This didn't really get shook out when I brought it up before.... What can Morales expect this offseason? 2/18? 3/24? Willingham, before we signed him, is a pretty good comp.
  15. All while keeping the payroll under $80,000,000 (not that our dreams care about that, but the Pohlads dreams sure do)
  16. 19 times in Buxton's last 22 games he has reached base multiple times, which is the same number of times as Aaron Hicks has all year (Majors and AAA) in 97 total games.
  17. 24 out of Buxton's last 28 games he has reached base MULTIPLE times.
  18. Fun stat... Ft Myers last 8 games have all been part of a double-header
  19. n/m
  20. Other than SP, I'd take OF over any of the rest, since it encompasses 3 positions.
  21. Keith Law looked at each position (across the team's entire organization) and listed which organization was the strongest at each. Top MLB teams at each position - ESPN The Twins didn't get the nod for the best organization of Outfielders, but we got di facto 2nd place The Twins have a surfeit of center fielders with Aaron Hicks, whom I still like in the long term despite his rough ride in the majors this year; Byron Buxton, the top overall prospect in the minors right now at age 19; and second baseman Eddie Rosario, who was a full-time center fielder until 2012 and could return to center if the need arose in the future. Cedar Rapids shortstop Niko Goodrum may end up in center field, although his bat has been slow to develop, while the Kernels' right fielder, German-born Max Kepler, is back on the field after missing two months due to injury and is one of the team's top 10 prospects. He gave the nod to the Pirates because of their actual MLB players. Also... no mention of Arcia, which was interesting
  22. Ft Myers with the rare rainout.
  23. Having heard about Buxton's work ethic, I would think it would be exciting for him to play a couple weeks playing against the best at the highest level, see what he has to do to be one of those best, and spend the offseason relentlessly working on those things. The 40-man roster issue is almost a non-starter for me, however the service time might be a big enough hurdle that Terry Ryan doesn't want to have to hop over.
