  1. OK... I meant when he moved from Catcher. However long ago that was. 2 years I guess?
  2. Mauer is actually quite fast. Seriously. I posted an article a while back that showed top speeds to 2B on steal attempts. It was pretty interesting. It basically showed that Mauer could be a pretty darn good base stealer if he got leads off of 1B that were worth a damn.
  3. The question that is stuck in my mind is this.... If we feel comfortable moving our 6'5" 260lb masher to OF, why the hell didn't we at least TRY Mauer out there 3 years ago?
  4. Maybe this has been asked and I missed it, but I keep seeing people trying to tie John David Murphy's success to this. What does that have to do with anything? None of these guys can play catcher and if JDM doesn't work out at catcher, he's gone.
  5. Yeah, that's like saying it would be to the benefit of Trevor Plouffe for the Twins to decline arbitration.
  6. LOL @ Kepler being left off the 40-man. Every single team would put in a claim on him and/or he would be a 100% lock to be the first person chosen in the Rule 5 draft.
  7. http://www.kfan.com/onair/twins-blog-38057/twins-announce-plans-to-move-sano-14169360/ Could still be posturing for a Plouffe trade, but I'm not so sure, at this point.
  8. Out of the 30 or so (maybe more) players listed, only Zach Jones was listed by Baseball America. http://www.baseballamerica.com/minors/2015-rule-5-draft-preview-names-remember/
  9. Longest road trip of 7 games (3 times). Not bad.
  10. What's the point of having these rivalry series if you schedule them at the worst possible times? 12:10pm on a Tuesday in April. LOL.
  11. Milwaukee mid-week in April. Makes no sense.
  12. There's a 75% chance this move is just shuffling deck chairs on the Queen Mary (Countless examples) 15% chance we look back and think this was a terrible move (Gomez for Hardy) 8% chance we look back and are brought to tears (Hardy for Hoey) 2% chance we look back and think we swindled the Yankees (AJ Trade)
  13. Based on our trade with Arizona, players that own a Catcher's mitt, hold a lot of value.
  14. I'd take Nathan on a low-guarantee deal. Pass on the rest.
  15. Can't we send Plouffe to the Dominican to play some OF?
  16. Not exactly on topic.... Can Tyler Duffey be Brad Radke? I think by just about anyone's definition, Brad Radke wasn't an ace, but he was a solid #2 or really good #3. Why can't Tyler Duffey be that? Of all the players on the Twins, he's the only one that reminds me of Radke.
  17. MLB in 2000: .276/.349/.443 Just interesting is all.
  18. They probably took a look at the percentage of seats filled in that highly under-populated section (2 sections, right) and realized they could make better use of that property. There still are plenty of cheap seats available. The loss of those 160-ish seats (2 sections of 4 rows of 20 seats) is a practically insignificant blimp on the radar.
  19. My biggest complain when it comes to beer/booze in the Stadium is that it's too hard to find GOOD beer. I realize "good" is subjective, but I think we all know I'm not talking about MGD. There aren't enough vending locations that carry "craft" beers and they seem to move every year. Not sure how this new feature changes that, but maybe it will.
  20. There's nothing wrong with them being lottery tickets. It just struck me that this list was comprised almost exclusively (except for Reed) of long-term project, high upside guys. As opposed to the previous few lists which seemed to have more "We'll be happy if he ever contributes to a major league roster" type guys
  21. I would have liked to have seen Duffey get a couple 5th place votes.
  22. Keith Law said that last week. Lots of us felt that on Aug 1, but not Sept 25.
  23. But according to Keith Law, giving starts to May and Duffey instead of Berrios was the Twins' biggest problem this year. Good Call Keith.
