    This team has regressed to a background screensaver for the rest of the season. Lineup sans Buxton can't hit and every pitcher not named Ryan either gets hurt or implodes after a few appearances. No healthy exciting prospects either.

    More resilience will be needed to weather the Jeffers storm. I'm in the camp of using this "opportunity" to really see what is there with Jackson. Caratini isn't doing the main thing that separates him from Jackson right now: hit. 50/50 at a minimum would be a start. Watching night after night of young starting pitchers perform has been one of the best parts of this season. It's way more fun than seeing guys like Paddack, Archer, Bundy, Urena, Keuchel and Mahle being given those nods and knowing they represent zero future with the team.

    Outman is getting his actual chance right now. I agree with the above comment to let it play out. The SSS of Outman's chance is confirming the 40% K-rate and inability to get on base. This could be a different situation by the middle of June. Fedko just needs to stay focused, if he wants a chance to be a part of the solution.

    Joe Ryan is my favorite Twin after Buxton right now, but I know he is likely gone. I hope he doesn't end up in LA, NY, PHI or on the White Sox. However, Bradley, Matthews, Abel, Prielipp and Rojas represent a very young and very controlled group that can generate excitement. I still hope a miracle Ryan extension happens, but reality doesn't look as bleak with those five in the fold, if they can stay healthy. Ryan and Ober should be able to return at least a quality depth piece to that crew as well as part of the return.
