  1. logic is no longer a factor in the personnel decisions of the Minnesota Twins. The only thing that matters is the image of Derek Falvey, and Thad Levine that they are the next coming if Theo Epstein, Sandy Alderson, and Branch Rickey rolled into two. With TC the bear running the FO we wouldnt be this much of a joke.
  2. What a sad, Sad state of affairs this has become. Are we actually pinning our hopes on this rag tag group. I would quit if I were Joe Mauer too! At least most of his career he knew going into spring training there was a fighting chance. Thanks once again for taking away our 2019,20, and 21 hopes away Falvine. I sure hope it advances your careers in all the ways you had hoped...... NOT
  3. i simply started the thread because i am feeling ripped off by the selling off of a teams nucleus with one third of the season to go. it seems to me in the best interest of the league to move it back. Minneaota is not the only one this happened to.
  4. its easy now to look and say Cleveland, my Indians are going to win 95 games. OF COURSE THEY ARE! THEY ARE PLAYING AA competition since the july 27 mark. The whole thing is ....what WOULD have happened? Cleveland has 0...thats Zero chance to win one playoff series. NONE. WE GAVE THEM THE DIVISION. At the very least we should care about the boost to the economy Minneapolis would get from one home playoff game. UNBELIEVABLE!
  5. I am so tired of this because when they get fired we wont be debating Falvines Fallacys and Failures anymore. i just heard Levine say the coaching staff performed better in 2018 than 2017. Ha! guess he hasnt seen any games.
  6. mark my words, letting Lance Lynn go for , ok i will say it NOTHING, will be known as one of the worst trades we ever made. He was tracking to be just what he always has been...a reliable #3 or maybe even #2 starter with a winner's heart. Spend some time and look up what former St.Louis Cardinal's players do when they leave that organization. I know, but you prolly will be amazed. it is not a joke. i spit real sir.
  7. did i actually see someone call Detroit a major league team? If that were true then you'd have to assume the Twins were that too Is anyone really that naive?
  8. Oh my god Kohl Stewart for Cy Young 2019. L.M.M.F.A.O.
  9. well i will admit that the medical staff has been a topic of concern over the years. To give the new front office any credit for discovering a known issue at this disastrous juncture is absurd. I didn't see anyone being shut down for nagging toll of the season injuries last year. For anyone to actually see any positive from this is kind of ridiculous. These guys dont wanna play any more. This is what happens when you tank a season before it's time. The guys you have quit and you never will get an accurate read on the new guys because the whole clubhouse is FUBARed. Derek that means you will never get a good evaluation since somewhere between July 27, and now. Prolly it wont tell you anything in fangraphs about that. To gut a team means just that. Go home until spring training like you made us do. I for one hope you aren't joining us for 2019.
  10. ok i was kind of seeing your point until you said that Dozier, Escobar, Lynn, Pressly, and Rodney were same as having Austin, Forsythe, Drake, DeJong and Who else?...Wait a minute What????. Yes those five are way WAY better than (name any five) currently on the Twins 40 man. This season was TANKED because somebody somewhere did not believe in them or for some other ulterior motive. The 40 man roster is what it is BECAUSE of those moves and YES before the gutting of the team's heart and soul they had a puncher's chance to catch and pass Cleveland. We all know who made the decisions but that is not part of my point and I dont want anyone to say i am attacking whoever traded our teams leadership. Austin has done nothing in his career to show me he will ever be more than a big slow guy that is a defensive liability anywhere you put him and gets hurt and strikes out way too much. (we already have a guy like that). If he is so good then why did the Yankees dump him on us and trade for the Cardinal's Luke Voit the next day. If you want to debate with me more why was the Yankees first base job won by NEIL WALKER out of spring training when Bird was hurt and Austin was healthy? Thats the only one of our fearsome fivesome that i even need to elaborate on, unless you really Do think Forsythe is as good as Dozier and Drake is as good as Duke and DeJong could carry Lynn's gear. thanks for the take though...it is what it is. Instead of cheering for our team we are discussing this and that shouldnt be the way it is. They should have let em' settle it on the field.
  11. Im looking and i still dont see anyone say they were in favor of making a run but now saying they were bad anyway. I will say I did and I Do think they could have caught Cleveland. Of course Now the forty man roster is a joke. I know I am am talking about how much I wish we could have seen what would have happened with Escobar, Dozier, Sano back, Polanco back, Pressly and Duke, and Rodney still in the bullpen and Lynn still holding down a spot in the rotation. Somebody somewhere decided that 9 games out with 62 to go was insurmountable. I assure you sir Cleveland is NOT that good. And we had something like 10 games remaining with them. Let them decide it on the field. I dont follow the Twins because i love watching the outcomes of Falvey and Levine's decisions. IMO Id never see them in the news at all. Of course its a moot point now. They made their beds and time will tell..i am upset because i feel they screwed the fans this year. Nobody can say now what would or would not have happened because they made sure(unlike last year) to dismantle the 25 man so there was not a snowballs chance in....Arizona.
  12. I wonder how many fans it would take to get the MLB to change that policy... I see no reason why it couldnt or shouldnt be done.
  13. Gosh I hope we can contend for something in 2019 besides a high draft pick. I just dont see it ....
  14. I just think we as fans deserve a chance to see our favorite teams actually compete until they are mathematically eliminated. Our FO had every opportunity to extend many of these players way before July 2018. If they knew they weren't in their long range plans then why didnt they trade them when they could have got more for them? Moving the deadline back a month would force teams to make decisions sooner and put more thought into the decision. To think that your gonna get Escobar back for less money is kind of a fantasy isnt it? They just say that to pacify those that questioned the deal.Im not satisfied with what they got in return. If they would have had to do it sooner they may have got Chris Owings or Ketel Marte , maybe even Jake Lamb out of the deal. I get it his performance had lot to do with the timeline but jeeze....his value to us was way Way more than three A ball teenagers. That dude has heart and he is a leader. Long before this year. You could laugh but if you look at some people for example Lynn, and Odirizzi. Their careers make this years stat line look like an aberration. Theres no reason to think they stink like 2018 forever. Both of those guys have always been way better. Letting Lance Lynn go was a mistake...mark my words. He didnt even have the benefit of Spring Training and he was bringin it at the end. Odo, if they keep him around has what it takes as well....he was a steal. you could look it up.
  15. Im not sure Shaitan if they did or not. I tried to research it and it has to do with teams making deals to influence playoff seedings and what not. If you didnt allow interleague trading after say the All Star break, then i dont see why anyone would object.
  16. I know some people are complaining about the 40 man roster but it hasnt been me. It is what it should be after you trade 7 major leaguers for 15 maybes, no ways , and ill be dead before we ever knows. The five year plan is just where it belongs....gut the team, start over with all our own people(Cleveland and Texas cast-offs) and by maybe Maybe 2024 we can compete for another wild card. Dang it.....weren't we just in a wild card game? The disparity between the Bostons, New Yorks and even the Angels is never going to go away no matter what you do. Trying to compete with them is not even logical. Putting a team together of Twins operating under an inspired field manager can and will win a title. You have to get in the tournament to have shot. With this regime we can sell every singke year if we have to be the favorites for the title to finish the season. I dont see this reasoning at all. The disparity in revenue will Never go away so forget that.
  17. I am sure we arent the only ones that had their season ended abruptly and prematurely. I dont see why this deadline cant be moved up to June 30th or any point just before the All-Star break. This would prevent a lot of these fire sales whether they turn out good or bad for teams. The point being that people have bought tickets in good faith assuming many of the games in August and September would be meaningful. Could there be a way to avoid this practice of deciding we are sellers and gutting the team? I know I dont have all the answers...I only know how disappointed, hurt, and angry I was this year. Does anyone have a solution? Moving the deadline may or not be an answer but I can't see any reason why July 31st is written in stone.
  18. I agree that this has been a disappointing year for Odirizzi but the facts are what they are. If you look at his career stats, this year has been an exception not the rule. I for one am glad he's still here and I hope he is for 2019 as well. Everyone would be happy to have him as a #4 or #5 starter.
  19. L.M.M.F.A.O. i didnt mean he would be the hitting coach....although if you look at the career average of James Rowson , maybe it ISN'T such a long shot. Nowhere else have i ever heard of a manager not picking his own coaching staff...it is amazing and dumbfounding
  20. I love it too ...i want my unborn grandchildren to graduate from high school before this franchise ever becomes competitive again
  21. But seriously whats not to like about Gimenez? We have to know he plays because he loves the game. He would be a great teacher to backstops and hurlers as well if I thought they were even thinking about that. To read the comments it seemed like we made this move to do Wilson a favor and bring their old buddy Gimenez back. No doubt he has a fond history with Shelton too. Maybe he's here to become the next bench coach?.
  22. if we need a catching coach gosh i dont know where we could find one....Oh hey Joe...whats up?
  23. i am going with this...This is no way to run a baseball team
  24. Does the whole thing even make sense to you? I get it you wanna shoot me down...i wish i could just say "it's gonna be fine guys... we're heading in the right directiin...be patient" Its Not fine. We're going backwards one sidestep at a time. If it werd one isolated incident ok...theyre new at this, but ITS NOT! How did Sano make it through Spring Training and nobody saw these issues that ultimately had him sent not to AAA BUT FORT MYERS!!. At the first of June!!..what a coincidence he was magically deemed all better the day Escobar got traded. Did you pay attention to this season at all? I am sorry but too many things have happened that makes me step back and say Hmmm...whats really goin on here. I get it you dont agree with me ok...thats fine but you know i spit real.
