  1. I've somehow lost the will to continue the quest.
  2. heh heh heh heh i remember when i used to do this crap way too much.
  3. I think we can save the collective bargaining debate for December 2021.
  4. I never meant to start a new thread over it. I simply used those examples to demonstrate how in my opinion, the way Los Angeles handled his usage was straight up a screw over and I think the fact that he just took it all these years is commendable. We all know Maeda's contract ia sweet deal for the owners. I merely meant I don't ever wanna see the Twins pull that back handed kind of crap with Any Players Ever. That's a great way to make sure free agents don't wanna come to Minnesota. nuff said? good.
  5. Oh Man why didn't you say so! Absolutely move Cave to the top of the depth chart. How could I have been so blind. I didnt notice any Hr, rbi, or extra base hit totals in those stat lines. And I guess its fair to assess it in say 502 p.a for Rosario and say 130 for Cave? Player B sounds like a starting left fielder on a 101 win team. Player A is what he is. A 4th or 5th outfielder off the bench with options who wont even stick on the 25 man if we need an extra arm or another catcher for a week. Gotcha...it makes sense now.
  6. I'm over it. The idea of replacing your engine because you have a slow leak in a tire will never catch on in our Front Office. GO ROSARIO!!!
  7. Whatever it is it better be fair to Maeda. What the Dodgers did to him was Bush League. The equivalent of manipulating service time, collusion, and any other owner back room "screw the players over" scheme they have dreamt up over this C.B.A. I would like to believe the Minnesota Twins treat their players way better than that.
  8. it's not far fetched, with the addition of Donaldson and assuming they stay healthy, to argue they are the #1 lineup in the MLB. I thought it was interesting to learn the other day that mlb.com ranks the Twins bullpen as the #5 overall in the league! What's not to like about that!
  9. maybe Cameron Maybin is a significant upgrade out in the outfield but....meh....
  10. In the Athletic they recently had a scout poll rank starting pitchers on 1-4 tiers. included in the rankings are I.Aces I.2 Applicants. There are only 4 aces, Cole, Scherzer, deGrom, and Verlander. There are 18 applicants and I think Berrios is like number 12 overall. III. Starts with Greinke. There are 25 sp in this category of solid #3 guys. Maeda is #21 and Odorizzi is #25. In the IV. Category Pineda is listed as 11th best and Bailey is 13th. Rich Hill isn't on the list at all but from what we have seen so far my guess is he would rank somewhere around Maeda and Odorizzi. Basically it means according to the survey the Twins have 6 of the top 60 Starting Pitchers in the mlb (#s 12,43,47,58,and #60). I am estimating Hill would be say #45 were he on the list at all. What does it mean? The closest thing we have to an Ace is Berrios with Maeda and Odorizzi not far behind. I think the group as a whole is better than 2019 but I also think we lack a true #1 guy. I don't know who that would be but I do know we will win plenty of games with the guys we have now.
  11. What I mean to say is Rosario was and is ONE of the team leaders that survived the purge of 2018. If you look through the depth chart you tell me with a straight face that Rosario is not the #1 lf in the organization? You will make me LMMFAO. No way in hell is Wade, Cave, Kiriloff, Larnach, Rooker, Badoo, or Celestino gonna fill his shoes any time before the end of the 2021. If anything, after this year they should just give him 12.5 million and settle his 2021 arbitration case before they waste the mediator's time.
  12. Well I can tell you for sure that for at least the 2020 abbreviated season while Gonzalez is under contract, Gonzalez is the primary corner outfield back up.
  13. True that Doc....I have always said the teams that win it all are the teams with at least a couple guys who have either won it before or got so close that they know what it takes to do it.
  14. For sure, I only meant i forgot to list him when I was trying to remember the regular bull pen guys.
  15. Having guys like Cruz, Donaldson, Gonzalez, Romo, Clippard, and Hill around is a brilliant move by the F.O.
  16. We can crunch the numbers and argue about it all week but the bottom line is....Nobody in the front office has ever given any indication that Rosario is even available. The fact he hasn't been extended probably means they're waiting to see how he improves his plate discipline etc. That doesn't matter. What matters is he's under team control until after the 2021 season. There's no way they non tender him ever. The Falvines know damn well theres nobody else in the organization that brings to the team what Rosario brings. I would not be surprised to see some combination of Rooker/Larnach/Kiriloff/Lewis/Duran/ etc packaged for a front line starter. That will happen before anybody beats Rosario out.
  17. You dont have to believe it if you dont wanna. If you really wanna know just pay attention or listen to what Sano, Cruz, Buxton, Polanco or Berrios have to say about it. Where else have you heard so many different teammates at so many different times say stuff like "I just wanna be there for my teammates" All these guys came up together through A, AA, AAA etc. You can look that up. If Eddie goes the Twins are gonna miss him. A Lot. So will I.
  18. I just like Eddie Rosario and what he brings in team spirit. He played hurt last year because Everybody was banged up and he felt he needed to be in there. Apparently Rocco, Shelton, Falvey and Levine agreed so that speaks for itself. Nobody is gonna give us a front line pitcher for him and we know that. To say he should be non tendered is really nonsense. Show me a 30+ homer and 100+ rbi guy that isnt a steal at 7.75 million a year! We dont have to worry about it until after 2021. Don't be surprised to see Larnach, Lewis, or Kiriloff be included in some package for quality pitching before Rosario ever is.
  19. Littel....i forgot him. He is defo in the mix as well.
  20. im not so sure I'd read too much into the intra-squad scrimmage rotation. Most likely we will see a Rotation of Berrios, Odorizzi, Hill,Maeda, then Bailey going as deep as they can. To err on the side of caution you will see Smeltzer, Dobnak, Thorpe, Chacin(if he doesn't opt out) and/or Poppen. The bullpen will stack up with Rogers, Romo, Clippard, May, Duffey, Wisler and maybe Stashak. (did i forget anyone?) If a guy throws 80 pitches in 4 innings like Odorizzi prolly will, then you will see the 2nd tier get us to the set up men. Matchups will determine who pitches and how long they pitch. Every game means 2.7 times more than normal.
  21. I'm not quite sure how I will ever understand some people's disdain for Eddie Rosario. I get it that his contract situation makes it seem like it's hard to move him. I get it that last year his defensive metrics took a hit. I even get it when people say that their little sister could have knocked in a hundred runs batting fourth in the lineup last year. What I don't get is this. This man came up with a group of players that includes Berrios, Kepler, Polanco, Sano, Buxton, Rogers, May, Duffey, and Garver. Because he was like a year, or a half a year ahead of them they view him as a sort of catalyst or leader of the group. Is anyone even paying attention? Did anyone see the throw he made to save the game at Fenway last year. Does anyone remember he had to play on a sprained ankle AND move to rf to occasionally make room for Araez to play lf last year. If you told me it would cost 7.75 mil a year for a 30 bomb/100 rbi/ clubhouse leader i would think you were insane. 29 other mlb teams would take that deal in a heartbeat. Why don't we just cheer for Eddie and let that other crap take care of itself after 2021? Make no mistake Cave, Wade, Larnach, Kiriloff, Lewis, or Celestino could never carry Rosario's jock strap. At least not this year OR next. Just saying.
  22. I am sure what is gonna happen is Kepler will play center, Rosario will move to right, and Gonzalez becomes the regular left fielder. They have a ton of flexibility but i think we all know the second best cf in the entire organization is still Kepler. (many would be surprised to learn Rosario is 3rd). This is not the end of the world and it doesn't mean Lewis is going to he rushed to the major league roster. If Buxton is not ready by opening day the replacement will be Gonzalez though he won't be in cf. No reason to freak out.
  23. I have to agree. Of course they're going to be super careful if he even fouls a ball off his foot. If nothing is broken, Let's keep it together. Even if he misses two weeks it's still gonna be all right. We gave all seen him hurt himself before. This was nothing like that. Its gonna be okay.
