  1. If your assessment of Dick Bremer was as enlightened as your comments of the geography and status of AAA baseball in Las Vegas, nobody is suffering from the loss of your deleted comments. It would be okay for you to think through your ideas and make an effort to be vaguely accurate.
  2. ....without express written consent of the Min-EE-soooo- ta Twins.
  3. The reason Butera is playing is GARDENHIRE! Gardenhire and Ryan must go. Until that happens, none of the rest of this is worth discussing.
  4. It's still hopeless. Gardenhire and Ryan must go. Anyone spending money at Target field is only helping to prolong the problem.
  5. Trade Morneau to any team willing to take on his remaining salary. sign Doumit to an extension as he is an excellent compliment to Mauer, who should never again be considered an every day Catcher. Trading Plouffe fo a prospect makes no sense. Plouffe is still a prospect. Let's see what he can do. Package Pavanno, Capps and Liriano to the Padres for Cal League all star, Rico Noel. the Padres are one team more in need of immediate help than the Twins.
  6. Chief, Send them to Cashman Field in Las Vegas to pitch 5 p.m. batting practice at 100+ degrees, dressed as showgirls.
  7. Does your copusin have Terry Ryan's phone number? Is he a switch hitter?
  8. Chief: Cashman field in Las Vegas is the most dismal place in professional baseball. I force myself to attend one game each year, just to prove to myself that it still sucks. Been to seven Cal League games and one at Petco so far this year. Lake Elsinore (Class A, Padres) has a gorgeous stadium and offers a great value. Check out Storm baseball on YouTube to take a look.
  9. Kerry Wood retired today, on a high note. After the Twins win three in a row, can someone mention to Gardenhire what a nice gesture that was for everyone?
  10. Smalley walked to load the bases in the bottom of the sixth, ahead of a two run double by Greg Gagne.
  11. You are totally wrong about Smalley. Smalley had one plate appearance and walked in Game 7 of the '87 series. He was traded to the Yankees much earlier in his career and had returned.
  12. Chief: How many Tuscon Padre's games have you seen this year?
  13. Neither of you are the target group for this offense. Forget I said anything. Explaining racism to Minnesotans is wasted breath. Have many Asians in your Hastings neighborhood?
  14. Idiotic to let Diamond hit with the bases loaded. Perfect situation for Doumit to pinch hit. No idea what Gardenhire is thinking. Maybe he's practicing his singing for the radio jingle.
  15. Observation Segment: As long as Rick Anderson is Pitching Coach, this prediction applies to every Twins game with no need to restrict it to Diamond, Mauer and/or Butera.
  16. Has he ironed his shirt while wearing it, lately?
  17. Would you have said, "The Black Guy"?
  18. Referring to any player as "the Asian Guy" is simply racist. I'm surprised and disappointed that whoever monitors these threads has not removed this comment.
  19. After living here for the last 17 years, let me tell you about Cashman Field and AAA baseball in Las Vegas. Cashman Field is the most dismal venue in pro baseball. The stadium is ugly and unwelcoming. It stands in a dangerously high crime area north if downtown, known affectionately by locals as "the Hood". Parking and traffic are miserable. One half to two thirds of the seating is bleachers, not fixed seats. The temperature at first pitch is routinely 100+ degrees. Players actually take BP and infield drills in shorts, to combat the heat. A small percentage of seats are located under a misting system, but sitting there puts fans under an overhang, sending the majority of fly balls out of view. There are no workout or treatment facilities at the stadium. Home team players are given passes to a local gym. I don't know where they get treatment. A dedicated Twins Fan, living in Las Vegas, I still don't wish this situation on the Twins. Please find a better place for your prospects.
  20. 5-14 is reflective. Teams don't pay players for statistics. Fans don't buy tickets for statistics. Every single Twins fan at Target Field, Wednesday, was paying to see a win, not hear a bunch of excuses.
  21. Slight correction: Bottom of the ninth, two outs, BASES LOADED, Span strikes out. Twins are 5-14 (The only stat the really matters).
  22. What about the bottom of the ninth, Wednesday night, down a runm when he struck out to end the game? Was that Spantastic? All of these stats are pure b.s. Winners get the job done when it matters. If I managed the team, Span wouldn't be in tonight's lineup.
  23. Love Bremer, but Ted Robinson was better. Blyleven used to be amusing, but hasn't said anything new or offered any new insights for at least 5 years. Tired of the "circling". Tired of hearing about his Birthday. Still don't think he belongs in the HOF.
  24. I like this thread and the responses, but think we are debating the wrong question. I find the radio braodcast too cluttered. Why is it impossible to come out of a commercial before missing the first pitch? Does there need to be a "drop in" ad between every pitch? "Get you eye care here! Buy your Harley Davidson here! Prepay for your own funeral here! Seriously, I listen to almost every team's radio broadcast from time to time on XM. The Twins' broadcast is easily the most heavily cluttered with advertising nonsense. Any response?
