  1. This is pretty much angled at the Hicks is not gonna amount to "bleep" posters. This site is good because everyone had their own opinion and obviously is willing to share it and I most definitely respect those opinions. The guy is 23 and was a mid-1st round draft choice with a raw 5-Tool upside. How the hell does anyone know how this guy is going to pan out? It's his rookie year and he skipped a level. We needed him to fill the spot and that is what he is doing. It was awful at first, but then became stomachable, and where we are at now it is okay. This guy could be a 30/30 guy someday. He also could fizzle out and become a 4th outfielder. None of us have a clue how his progression will turn out, if he is able to hit 20 HR's with a .350+OBP he can definitely fill a corner OF spot. I guess the point of me posting this, is that I hope people are cheering for him to succeed. If there are TD participants who get joy off of seeing him fail... that Bleeping sucks! The jury is a long time away from making their final judgement on this young man. Champion Hicks, hope for the greatest possible outcome. We are all still Twins fans... right?
  2. A trend that has been all too familiar lately. It was nice to see Hicks and Plouffe go yard, but saying that seems somewhat pointless or insulting. After these awful stretches this ball club has gone through, this stretch feels like the indicator for the final analysis of the direction this team will go. It is not up. I am prepping myself for the pointless, hollow and insulting victories (player accomplishments in Twin's Losses).
  3. Much respect to the Stillwater Ponies. My wife and Glen Perkins Alma Mater. Congrats Glen. You earned this one!
  4. Magnificent Rainbows, Laffy Taffy Blizzards from DQ (minus banana flavor), a Beautiful Waterfall in your Backyard, Little Bunnies eating from your hand, flowers in bloom wherever the human eye can see, Bark's Lounge serenading you with a Sweet Lil' Lullaby, etc., etc.... Since the Twins won today, I thought it would be a good omen to end this thread on a positive note.
  5. Of course. I just assumed that would be the case. Sorry for the confusion.

  7. Yeah, I seen them play at 1st Avenue (7th Street Entry) in the early 1990's. They were pretty bad ass.
  8. Man, this is a great question. I cannot remember the way I used to live when the Twins would win a game here or there... maybe I had some Jello or pudding as a celebration treat. As it stands now, I will probably get drunk, go into my back yard and accost my neighbor for letting his dog take some deuces in my yard, take a swim in my neighbor's kiddie pool, do some other stuff I will not remember, and my wife will come wake me up from my slumber between our garbage cans on the side of the house tomorrow morning.
  9. I commend you on your sacrifice for the greater good of the science community.
  10. Go for it - just make sure you have some paper tissue.
  11. (sigh) I guess my motto for today is once again "A Day Late, A Dollar Short".
  12. Sad indeed. Dozier is definitely on the path to being a contender for the record.
  13. I wonder what the season record HR total for a Twins 2B is? I cannot recall a Twins 2B hitting 20 Jacks. Dozier may be on pace. (Edit: for the team record for 2B HR's - not 20HR's)
  14. Thanks for the heads up. I have watched a lot of baseball and I think this is the first time I've seen it (?).
  15. I am assuming Hicks is batting RH against a RHP because he is a knuckleballer or have I missed something?
  16. It's a secret. A secret you probably do not want to know.
  17. Great thread concept! Who's brilliant idea was this?
  18. 1. You are a good whistler 2. All of your dates entailed watching "The Smurfs and the Magic Flute" movie on all of your dates in the 1980's. 3. You have a magic flute... Oooo... gross.
  19. Well, that is no surprise - Jimmy was lured to Living Island by a boat that worked for Witchiepoo due to the fact that Jimmy possesses a magic flute named Freddy.
  20. Glunn, your humanitarian efforts know no bounds. Is there any way you could ban the Twins from this site? We could then talk about antique ash trays, the pros and cons of the modern porn or corn industry and H.R. Puffinstuff.
  21. Can anyone point me to the Twins Baseball Therapy Thread. After the last week and a half I need to talk about some things... I need to exorcise some demons without getting banned.
  22. Watching my grandparents have X-Rated relations > playing the Yankees
  23. Shhhh... I didn't want to ask him directly. That way I don't look like a mooch.
