  1. One pitcher who comes to mind, when talking about never wanting to leave a game early, was John Lackey. This guy just came up short of becoming violent, when he thought a mgr was coming to get him. He was definitely a competitive individual and a little rough around the edges. He filed for divorce from his first wife while she was battling cancer. Just to give you an idea of his perspective.
  2. Baseball has a way, for the best (divisionally or league-wise) finishing at the top, most of the time. That's the intrigue of a 162 game schedule. Streaks, winning ones or losing ones, skew our perceptions and expectations. After the last Milwaukee game, we were world beaters in some people's minds. After this Detroit loss, we're scum. The point is, IMO, that most seasons are like a roller coaster, in performance and emotions. We need to let this play out a bit more. However, part of the attraction of baseball, is it provides an opportunity for us to ride this roller coaster and experience all of its ups, downs, twists and turns. So, if you're passionate about this game or a specific team, you're going to look at small sections of a season and critique, accordingly. That's the beauty of it. You can be right one day and wrong the next in your assessments. Let's tolerate the assessments. Let them be a reflection of one's passion for the game.
  3. Anyone still thinking about a 'sweep'?
  4. Darn, this pitcher throws so many pitches in the dirt. He's going through a gross of baseballs.
  5. Don't worry about the receiver. The Twins hitters wouldn't know what to do, even when they know what is coming. LOL
  6. Put him in the marinade whirlpool, that'll tenderize him a bit.
  7. I've contended on many occasions how the Twins play to the level of the competition. That's definitely not the case tonight.
  8. What was that. Kepler shielding himself from the wall?
  9. Let's go AK. Start earning some of that MLB minimum
  10. Good crowd, dick says. I think they're T-Pain lovers.
  11. Whatever you choose. However, it was asked in English, I believe.
  12. I feel like we keeping Detroit in this game. Even though it's early, I feel like we're gonna let them hang around, giving them a chance to take this first game. Also, we need to add more runs, and can't shut down the offense.
  13. So if I'm speaking English, I only have 8 fingers?
  14. He could incorporate it into his commercial, 'Here comes Bunty'.
  15. I think of Clint Eastwoods housekeeper's neighbor, whose daughter adopted a boy named Boyd.
  16. My daughter and I were watching some crime show. The headline of the local newspaper from the show read, "Local man, shoots himself several times, dies of apparent suicide". We both looked at each other with a quizzical look.
  17. You could also try gargling peanut butter for 30 seconds. Give it a shot.
  18. I know, I knit all my own socks since my kids got older and don't give them as gifts.
  19. So, turn your tv off and read a book. We'll let you know the final score.
  20. Before I forget, Happy Father's Day to all those dads out there, especially Al Pacino. "Say hello to my little friend".
