  1. I'm one that prefers to see the guys we drafted and have done well, get a chance before getting cut. Burdi. The rule 5 Guys just create a log Jam (because the can't be sent down) for no real reason! You can bring in 4-5 guys like Boshers,Fien on a minor league contract. Why force yourself to hide someone on the 25 man roster? This isn't a 90 loss team that has no AAA pitchers and needs depth.
  2. Busenitz,Curtiss,Gonsaleves,Slegers,Garver. I think all these guys will play a big part of the 2018 season.
  3. Unless some is talking about a front line starter, its a non issue. As far as Sano goes, I suggested trading too when he first came up and looked like a star for years to come. Now i say give him another year. See if he can recoup some value and look at our needs for 2019. I will say I've never liked power hitting, no defense players, unless your talking about a complete hitter, with power.
  4. Agree with Thrylos. The guy just hit 33 doubles, 27 Hr's, .290 Avg, .507 Slg and and OPS of .836. in his 3rd full year. I just hope Buxton and Kepler can improve the same way. At this point his defence is just not that big a deal compared to what he can do with his Bat! Keep it up Eddie!
  5. I'll be watching Brent Rooker!
  6. Kepler seem to be working on pulling the ball and hitting for power last year. This year i hope he becomes more confident hitting the ball the other way. With time he should learn to lift the ball. So, he could continue to be a pull hitter and go the way of Kubel or he could go the way of Morneau and go the other way every now and then. He might just become a combo of both.
  7. Not much cost, not much upside. I just hope if he sucks, he doesn't clog the system to save face to the F.O. signing him. Will he block Jay from moving up by July?
  8. First the Twins have a GOOD team now. We need an Ace, First and by far the most important item missing. I've never been to thrilled about singing a closer but we do need some help in the Pen. May and others might be the answer. Next we could use a RH bat, outfield DH a Vet. As far as DH, I saw stats that put Vargas 3rd best DH last year and Grossman right behind them. Seems Power is the name of the Game right now and their are a lot of teams with guys hitting below .220 and striking out, for the occasional HR. I don't get it, but I'm OK with Vargas. Let him Bat 4-5-6-7. He's not great but we have a good line up and he can add a little power to it.
  9. If Presley doesn't learn to throw his cure for a strike, he'll never make it. He bounce it in the dirt every time an then has to come back with a meatball. Forget the pen this year and hope the bats win games! Give the young pen one more year and find a ACE or two.
  10. Santana sindrome. It worked once so now it has to be retried every year. I dislike the amount of time spent on the rule 5 players trying to make them something they aren't. Use the talent we already have, try giving a guy like Reed an extended chance.
  11. I dislike the Twins selecting a pitchers when they left 5 unprotected. ???? Now I fear Kinley will be given time and innings that would have gone to Bard or Reed. To me the last time we protected Graham and to a degree Haley they blocked some of the other young guys from getting innings and time in the Bigs. I don't like trying to hide someone. I'd prefer to move reliever back and forth from AAA as needed.
  12. It seem weird to see that the Twins might lose pitchers in the Rule 5 Draft. We've had such a shortage and these guys never got much of a shot in AAA. Fingers are crossed that we don't lose them. I'd like to see all of them at AAA next year.
  13. Slegers could be a solid 4th-5th type pitcher. Nothing wrong with that. He's still young and needs to learn how to pitch at the Big League Level. We all saw how long it took Barrios to adjust. I'd expect to see Slegers more then others do because of his consistency. You need someone to go to the mound and throw quality pitches, every time out. I think Slegers can do that.
