  1. May, Gonsalvez, Romero, Littel, Slegers all need to be in the AAA rotation. It will be interesting to watch how the crop turns out. Mejia/ May/ Romero/ Littel have all had the is his best future in the bullpen question posed of them as prospects. Stewart and Slegers seem to be of the Brian Duensing/ Anthony Swarzak 6th starter or long guy mold.
  2. http://cdn3.sbnation.com/imported_assets/1573943/i3SXAH4AAxtWS_medium.gif Yes please.
  3. Im on board with Darvish or Otani or both. Pitching seems to make the jump better than hitting and Otani's bat is much less important to me than his arm. Darvish sucked in the world series but was really good the rest of the playoffs. The whole controversy with the slick world series balls seems like it could be a major factor there as he relies on his slider a lot. Spend the money to get a top of the line pitcher period.
  4. Agree 100%. Build the team like May/ Chargois/ rookies that should break out don't exist. If/when they push there way onto the roster you only get stronger.
  5. There are plenty of middle relief options and possibilities but this team is still severely lacking dominate bull pen arms. Sign at least one big arm, if not two. It was straight up embarrassing to compare the pens in the wild card game, and the Twins would have only gotten exposed more had they advanced.
  6. Twins need big arms for the pen, I like Mcgee and Morrow spend some money on the top end. They don't need a closer to pigeon hole into the 9th inning but they do need guys with closer stuff.
  7. Disappointing but not that surprising result. It was awesome to see them come right out of the gate firing, and then the fact that we are still a pitching staff away from competing showed up.
  8. I would replace Duffey with Vargas due to the fact that they won't need a medicore long reliever and I guess could use a mediocre RH pinch hitter, but other than that looks good to me. If Sano can pinch hit bring him, get him a bunch of bp and make it happen if at all possible.
  9. But they haven't really, TR was jettisoned but many of the scouts/ minors guys were not. Which scares me.
  10. Excited for Curtiss eventual call up, Busenitz stuff looks playable, haven't seen Hildenberger yet but his minors resume is promising. Its crazy how deep they are having to reach. The pen was still going to be a major issue even if everything went right but nothing has. May was a huge loss, of their "steady vet pickups" Belisle has been terrible and Breslow has been forced into way to big a roll. on top of that Chargois/ Burdi/ Jay were supposed to be the high end depth. Thats 5/6 of the best pen arms, in an already weak pen, either failing or hurt.
  11. Did Blaine Boyer shave and lose some weight?
  12. He seems to have lost some touch on his slider, the back to back homeruns last night were both meatball sliders. He is just evening out as season goes on, Santana is never going to be anything but a Twins "ace" (good #3 starter). He has been awesome up to this last couple starts, hopefully he gets back on track soon.
  13. Bringing Rogers in to face 5 righties is less than ideal
  14. There was a quote in the draft thread about the scouts like Lewis and the analytics guys liking Mckay. The scouts, who are largely old regime guys, seem to have won and taken a guy right in their wheelhouse. This worries me some because the recent history is not favorable to them. I like Lewis as the pick a lot more than Mckay as a pitcher, but would personally have preferred Gore/ Wright/ Green. Hopefully Lewis turns into a stud, there isn't much more valuable than a stud SS/CF.
  15. I prefer Wright or Green. If the select Mckay I hope its just as a pitcher. I think for someone to be a mlb 2 way player they would have to not be elite at either one and that should be the target at 1:1.
  16. Dozier, Vargas, Rosario, Grossman, Escobar are the expendable MLB pieces with some positive value. There are a couple SS prospects so that could be a position of strength to deal from, maybe Granite fits into the equation as well. I wouldn't pay prospects for top tier arm to help only this year, some extra years of control would make it much more appealing. Sonny Gray seems like a solid target Oakland probably only wants prospects though.
