    Cruz has been in a slump; even before the injury.

    FIP hasn't been above 3 the past three years; including this year. Dude is a solid reliever. Stats back it up. He's having a rough season, but all in all has pitched less than 20 innings. Now, should he be used in high leverage situations in the playoffs? I don't know. Maybe against a lefty, but has a ways to go to earn the right to pitch to multiple righties.     Except Votto has been a perennial MVP candidate and granted he is at the tail end of his career, he's still the best hitter on the Reds.

    Bottom line is the bullpen needs Rogers to be confident and get back to trusting his stuff. The bullpen is better with Romo not closing. Not saying that Rogers should be closing games right now; should be Duffey.

    Gonna push back a little bit. He's been pretty dominant the past three years regardless of his role. He has a solid K rate and throws hard. He typically has solid control. I mean he is a good pitcher, just having a tough year. Outside of his rookie year and this year, he hasn't had a year with an ERA above 3.10. He just looks like he lost his confidence this year. That was a dirty pitch there.

    September 7th and 12th. Those are the only two in his past 14 appearances.

    Why not bring in Duffey here? He's been the best bullpen arm all year and this is when you need to use him.

    Boys lookin good tonight. Would have liked to see Pineda a little more efficient before the playoffs, but still not terrible. Getting to Castillo is a good sign. Bring on the Astros!
