Well yeah, but he’s from SoCal. That doesn’t mean anything. I went I high school about 90 miles from where he was born and knew kids who spoke English perfectly but didn’t speak a lick of Spanish and similar kids who could speak Spanish without an American accent at all.
Are you kidding me? Have you watched Romo? The dude doesn't stop bouncing long enough for a 24fps camera to be anything other than a blur. He's basically Tigger.
He's been crazy consistent all year. His OPS has hovered just over 1.000 all season. One bad week from a catcher who plays 3-4 times a week can make it *look* like he has crazy fluctuations but he's been pretty much amazing from the start of the season until today.
It's a new team, he's now on a contender, facing his old team, and he's just that type of guy. And good for him. Have some effing fun out there, man. It's a game.
Sorry, I have to question bringing in Romo against his former team two days after he was traded. Put in... I don't know... literally anybody. This Marlins team hasn't seen any of the Twins pen while they've all been sitting in the dugout watching Romo pitch for four months.
I think the Twins need either Gibson or Odorizzi back and I'd QO one of them to avoid multiple seasons (unless one implodes or gets injured or whatever). I don't really care for either pitcher but I'd vastly overpay for a single season, I think. Or hell, maybe I'd do that to Pineda... but he's more of an injury risk.
