  1. Manship has Duncan right where he wants him. Eight feet from a homerun.
  2. He was barely behind it but I understand your point.
  3. Praise Jesus, we're saved. Jeff Manship is on the mound.
  4. Liriano isn't an ace because he hasn't been a very good pitcher in four of the past five seasons.
  5. Neither do I but I still cheer him on. And damn, Mauer drilled that ball right at the SS. Argh.
  6. No way can you compare Obama and Bachmann. Michele is a fringe, right wing nutjob. She's an embarrassment to Congress and given the average Congress, that's really sayin' something. Hell, her own party just called her out for implying there were Al Queda ties to Hilary's assistant. If the rest of the GOP is backpedaling on a remark you made toward Hilary Clinton, you know you've gone completely off the deep end. Her Politifact page would be hilarious if it wasn't so damned sad. The woman flat-out lies as often as she can get away with it (more often, actually) to rile up her base. She's the very definition of a demagogue. She's an awful, terrible, horrible woman and I have little respect for anyone who votes for her. I can handle people who disagree with me on various topics but if your main tools to convince people you're right are lies, fire, and brimstone, I'm not going to have a lick of respect for you or your constituency. In a nutshell, Bachmann is the pure embodiment of everything that is wrong with American politics. And I'm not even a ****ing Democrat.
  7. That's basically what it is. There won't be an NFL forum.
  8. Yep. Don't care at this point. In fact, it's probably better if he doesn't pitch. That way, the front office remembers him for his latest injury instead of 2-3 mediocre starts late in a lost season.
  9. I don't know what it is about Deduno but I find myself really cheering for the guy. Nishioka? Don't care. De Vries? Meh. Blackburn? Don't like him. But Deduno? I earnestly want to see the guy succeed. And I have no idea why. It might have something to do with the absurdity of his pitching style and the fact that he has absolutely no idea where the ball is going once it leaves his hand.
  10. As usual, he's all over the place. When he does get it over, it's a meatball.
  11. The Aboriginals are hitting Deduno pretty hard.
  12. Trevor has been talking about his injury for a couple of minutes now and hasn't mentioned "amputation" even once. I'm a little surprised.
  13. After weeks of watching it download at 5kps speeds, I finally finished downloading the entire run of Cop Rock. Screw you, baseball.
  14. I thought the exact same thing reading the article. My response was something akin to: WTF is "makeup"?
  15. What's your dog's name again, Dave?
  16. Yeah, it's a significant risk. I think at least one of them is going to succeed in MLB but it's looking more and more to me like Benson might not cut it. That means you have to hit on both Arcia and Hicks to make that plan work. Still, I think it's an option worth exploring (and it's part of the reason why I suggested holding off on a Span trade until the following season at the earliest).
  17. Back in 2006, BYTO spent months lobbying to replace Jose Bautista with a labradoodle.
  18. Oh, I know the two of you don't really hate each other. Both of you just think the other is kinda dumb.
  19. You two are such a cute couple. :s-instagib:
  20. Pictures of cute baby animals! Use your head, DPJ!
  21. You don't bench a guy for one bad day, especially his first day with the team. In fact, it's the opposite of what you do. You throw that guy out there again and show him that you have confidence in his ability to play baseball. Not that any of us have any confidence in Nishioka's ability to play baseball but Gardy's doing the right thing.
  22. There are a bunch of people who think the Twins could contend next season with a couple of smart acquisitions. The problem is that every single one of them has a different idea of how to get there. The OP is looking at the negatives in each post instead of seeing that each person is trying to figure out how to most improve the team... and to get quality starting pitching, the Twins are going to have to give up quality bats.
  23. I missed this earlier. I think Span could rake in Citizen's Bank Ballpark. Put him in a ballpark that isn't death to left-handers (even ones with masher ability) and I think he turns into a 10-12 homer guy. That greatly increases his value.
