Kevin John Correia was born on August 24, 1980 in San Diego, California.
The San Francisco Giants selected him in round four of the 2002 MLB Draft. Correia made his Major League debut in 2003, becoming the first player from his draft class to do so. He went 14-22 with a 4.59 ERA across six seasons with the Giants, making 46 starts and 124 relief appearances. The Minnesota Twins signed Correia to a two year, $10 million deal ahead of the 2013 campaign. He got off to a hot start in Minnesota, posting a 2.23 ERA over six April starts in 2013. Correia completed at least seven innings in five of those starts. He finished the season by going 9-13 with a 4.18 ERA in 31 starts.
