Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 I'm sure others knew this earlier, but it was new to me... Twins President Dave St. Peter this afternoon tweeted that the team would be having four bobblehead giveaways at Twins games in 2014. I love bobbleheads! One of my favorite things to do when the Twins did them annually was guess who they would include. So, therein lies the purpose of this thread. Let's predict who the bobbleheads will be. My guesses: 1.) Obvious one - Joe Mauer... Maybe with him not wearing a catcher's mitt? 2.) Glen Perkins - He's not going anywhere, was an All-Star, Minnesotan, all the good stuff. 3.) Brian Dozier - he'll be around for awhile... and he's got great hair. 4.) I'll say the fourth will be Chuck Knoblauch because they typically have one from their history. My fear is that they will go with Dan Gladden though. That is probably would I expect. What say you? Who would you like to see?
Twins Fan From Afar Verified Member Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Obviously they will be 4 scenes of Nishioka's career here: wearing that ridiculous winter jacket when he arrived to sign the contract; sporting crutches; grounder going through the 5-hole; and losing that pop-up in the Cleveland sun.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 The Twins did a Gladden Bobblehead in 2008, so I don't think they'll bring him back. I think Dozier and Perkins would be strongly considered. But I'm not sold on Mauer, either, after having just done one for him. If Knoblauch is inducted into the Twins HOF, I could see it being him. (They did it for Gaetti and Aguilera, but didn't continue that trend in 09.) I think it would be neat if they made it All-Star themed. So in terms of how it would be that way: Puckett in JuneCarew in JulyPerkins in August (in conjunction with Fifteen's 5K)Killebrew in September Though we'll probably see something more along the lines of what Seth said, Perkins, Dozier, etc. I think Arcia could be a darkhorse. Maybe Nolasco. And, if you ask Terry Ryan, maybe Eric Fryer.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 Jeremy... the Instigator!!! I did go back and saw that they already got Gladden... Brunansky is another possibility.
Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Bruno is a great call! I bet I could talk my mom into coming with me for that one... Bruno and Brian Harper, her two favorites. Of note: My dad also has a mustache.

Jeremy Nygaard Twins Daily Contributor Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Also it's now on the promo schedule that there will be a Lou Gehrig bobblehead in July too. Ridiculous if you ask me. Like there isn't enough reason for Yankees fans to overtake Target Field, let's give them a freaking Gehrig bobblehead to show up or a Twins/Yankees game on the 4th of July!
