Over and over our pen comes in and gives up the hits first batter, provides the opposite of relief and blows open the game or comes back on late innings. Cleveland’s comes in with bases loaded and rental Caratini strikes out on 3 pitches. Tale of two pens. The difference maker is Carl Willis as the Cleveland pitching coach. Nothing against Pete Maki, but Carl Willis has been doing it for years and seems to always have great pitching and I think it has to be linked to him. Blyleven2011 1

I have nothing against the current Twins coaching staff. My point was that Carl Willis has been at this for a long time and seems to get the best out his pitchers. You see that when many of these Cleveland pitchers go to other teams. They never seem to have the same level of success when they leave Cleveland. Hunter4848, Patzky and h2oface 3
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 And Buxton’s homer another with a man on base. That’s a good trend. Patzky 1
jkcarew Verified Member Posted May 9 Posted May 9 That’s a run lost on the bases (potentially), and a run lost batting Buxton in front of Martin (there’s been a number of those)…just sayin. Strombomb, Blyleven2011 and h2oface 3
