Two starts in a row for the old guy?

Hope he took his Geritol!

Gardy has finally seen enough of the adventures in fielding. The little elf is once again asserting his stabilizing influence on the field, not just as the "celebrated locker room mentor" role that the FO foisted upon him in April.

I for one am glad we have a soft tossing lefty throwing in Fenway tonight instead of a spendy free agent.

This one is truly bizarre. 2 lefties in a row in Fenway? And a short-rookie looking for boosts in his confidence? This was the perfect night for the Gibson spot start given that he is starting tonight for Rochester.

I don't recall hearing there was a knock on the 'D' in Dozier.

I'll give you maybe Gibson should be up already, but why would you want a spendy free agent this year? Complain in 2 years if they don't go out and spend for that 5th guy to make us a contender, not this year when we either should be looking at our young guys or getting by on the cheap.

Wish we'd get to the point where we know exactly what Floriman is. Then Carroll and Dozier can start every game and Flori can be in someone else's AAA affiliate.

If he doesn't get some hits pronto, that point may be arriving Real Soon Now.

A lousy hitter nowhere near good enough with the glove to make up for it?

Pretty sure we already know.

Seems odd to me you'd argue for more Carroll one post after arguing against adding pitching because we should be "looking at our young guys or getting by on the cheap." Carroll's cheap, but he's not going to be part of any future good Twins team.

I know that about Florimon, but what about Carroll?

/ "I know you are, but what am I" - doesn't quite work here, does it.

Kind of like a boxing match - will this kid pitcher make it out of the first round?

/ Edit: well, the other kid centerfielder answered that question for me. Hello Rochester.

Oh noes, Plouffe was playing back again.
Any dugout aneurisms to report?

It was awful nice of Webster to spot Hernandez this many runs.

Ah the legendary friendly Boston welcome to out-of-towners.

Not yet, but, the stern finger of Gardy is sure to be waving in his face after he gets back on the bench.

Trivia: Who is the Red Sox 3rd catcher if Salty goes down?

Would one imagine Napoli is still capable of throwing on the gear for a day, but who knows since they have stated they don't want him catching an inning this year.

Funny thing, I have the same goal for Butera.
