The L/R in question was on a team with a player who wore his helmet in the field. L/R guy commented that he had a teammate a few years earlier who did the same thing. Helmet guy said, "Yeah. That was me."

 

Among the bizarre stories about this guy, that one is among the most bizarre. That, and the one where he got a million dollar check and framed it, saying that he’d always wanted to be a millionaire. When the team checked on the status of the check, they suggested that maybe he could frame a photocopy of it.
