I remain convinced Kennys Vargas could have given this team the same, or better, production than Morrison. It's starting to look like last year really was the outlier rather than the new norm. Too bad.

I don't know. Vargas isn't hitting much better now, and he's in the minors. And Vargas is DH only, he cannot play a position in the majors

I don't understand why Morrison is in the lineup regularly with that kind of production. Morrison really makes Grossman look good offensively. Motter certainly makes Adrianza look good.

The explanation is that he really worked on hitting lefties in the offseason- anything to avoid the "platoon player" label that was beginning to be attached to his name.
