Amazing story

If any of you out there follow College Football recruiting, the name Shaq Thompson might be familiar. He goes by Green-Thompson now and he was a five-star recruit out of the state of California (highest-ranked prospect in the state) who agreed to play safety at Washington University (for probably three years) on his way to the NFL.

Funny thing, though. The Red Sox saw this 6'2, 210 lb freak and drafted him in the 18th round of the baseball draft. He signed and headed down to Fort Myers to join their GCL team, before heading to Seattle to join the football team for the fall. He couldn't get out soon enough.

Final line:

In 13 games, 39 at-bats, 37 strikeouts (!), 3 runs, 8 walks, 0 hits, 1 stolen base, 1 caught stealing. An OPS of .170.

Unreal.

The best part is the two non strikeout outs came against the Twins affiliate. Pitching to contact!
