hugepuckettfan Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Was in E-Town last night for the game. Away team was taking batting practice and it started raining. The grounds crew did not put the tarp on and therefore the game was rained out. It made a very bad impression on me. And two Twins executives were there visiting. I hope they told them how stupid they looked. I was so disappointed.
IdahoPilgrim Provisional Member Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 Is that the parent club's responsibility? I would think it would be the local farm team (Elizabethton) and whoever owns the stadium - in this case, the city of Elizabethton.
Seth Stohs Site Manager Posted July 16, 2012 Posted July 16, 2012 No, it's the home team's grounds crew chief, GM, etc. that make the decision to call a game before it starts. I don't know why they wouldn't have put the tarp on unless they had some report that there wasn't much rain coming.
