About the 20 in the closed end. I hope the bars in Dinkeytown have gotten their **** together. Last year, you were lucky to get a beer in an hour.

B1G was good last year, challenge was getting in. Service was pretty quick at the Sterbs beer garden. I'll be there around 10ish I hope. I'll be one of the Canadian guys if you're around.

Edit,

Lol, just saw you said Sunday, not Saturday.

Enjoy the game, hope the Vikes give you something to cheer about.

As a moderator, I gotta pipe up to suggest going easy on rubbing people's noses in things, or gloating, or whatever way to describe looking up old quotes for purposes of vindication. Next time the team goes on a losing streak, guess who is going to feel empowered to return the sentiments in kind? And then on the next winning streak, the need to justify oneself is just that much greater. And so on, and so on.

There is a long-running disagreement over whether the "negative nellies" or the "polyannas" hold too much sway here. The truth in my view is that it would be better to get over some of this stuff. We're all on the wrong side of the discussion every now and then.

This is a game thread. Carry on. I just felt the need to harp a bit. :)

That's why I didn't put authors up, I thought that would make it OK, even considering one of the quotes was my own.  Wasn't meant to put anyone down, but more of the attitude adjustment over the year, but I understand.

Sano just being up in those moments right now is going to be huge for his future.

A disappointing result, but a valuable future dividend.

Yeah - I also think it is great that the Twins are in the situation where Sano can come up and represent the winning run in a big game like this at all.

I remember when the Twins lost the first playoff game at Target Field and thinking that at least Thome came up in the bottom of the ninth with a chance to win it. Can't win them all, and some losses are harder to swallow, but I have to think that being in a position to win it in the end is all a fan can really ask for.

Only 13 players have ever hit into 30 double plays in a year.

Almost all of whom were pretty desirable hitters. Jim Rice, Jackie Jensen, Miguel Tejada, Bobby Doerr,  ...
