If the Wild win today ... I think they play the Blackhawks in the next round. Sorry, but my Minnesota sports loyalties are only with the Twins. :)

Couldn't stay awake last night. Reading last night's thread and box score, I was pleasantly surprised to see that we scored five runs after two outs. Dogs and cats are sleeping together.

 

Oh, also a favor to ask of the tech savvy mods: Could you put art in the circle thingy of some circus scene or Mickey Dolenz (he was Circus Boy on the TV show in the 1950s) or Charlton Heston from "The Greatest Show on Earth." If not possible, that's fine. I'll pay whatever you want.

What did he get tossed for?

He apparently said enough that finally crossed a line. Arguing balls and strikes probably - at some point the umpire says that's enough, it's not arguable, and one more word triggers the thumb. That in turn allows the manager to turn back and really tell the ump what he thinks, before he departs for good.

 

Dickbert said the ump is a call-up from the minors. I suppose some managers want to try to test him, and/or bend his will to some purpose.

This is odd. The Wild game at one point was 2-0. Twins were up 2-0. Then the Wild let a goal in, 2-1. Then the Twins gave up a homer, 2-1. Now the Wild are up 3-1, so the Twins are gonna score next.

Really  nice play by Plouffe there.  Quite the adjustment to throw to first.
