Agreeing with Bremer about the bunt. Bert thinks its a bad move to bunt with 2 outs nobody on. I say if a free base is handed to you, you take it weather there are 2 outs or not.

Never underestimate the ability of being able to find new depths and low levels on the game thread. Things can always go lower.

 

Although ya gotta admit, the Rally Cake was inspired.

It wasn't being used as a rally cake. D. Hocking was crabby so it was a 'don't be crabby' cake.

Well, since I have no raspberries and I hate to bake when its hot despite the A/C and I live 15 miles from a grocery store,

While we're digging out of our latest 3-0 hole, question: Do you remember your first MLB game?

 

Mine was on this date, July 22, 1967, Yankees at Detroit in old Briggs Stadium on Trumbull Avenue. My favorite player, Mickey Mantle -- I was 11 at the time -- hit one of his last home runs. But Norm Cash socked a late grand slam, Earl Wilson mowed 'em down, and the Tigers won 11-4. I got a hot dog and everyone around us laughed when I asked, "Where's the ketchup?" Only mustard on a real dog, son.

 

Six hours later, Detroit police cracked heads at an illegal bar, sparking four days of riots during which 43 people died. We lived in Flint, murder capital of the world. (The city's motto: "Where every day is a near-death experience.") A large black man came to our door and told us, "Nothing to worry about. Everyone knows your dad is the only white doctor in town who makes house calls in our neighborhood."

 

Anyway, that was what I remember from my first game.

I really don't remember my first game, but I'm pretty sure it was in 1965.
