Thank God Mauer wasn't playing first on that DP.

Yeah, he's still a little slow getting rid of the ball. I'm seeing some improvement from Joe at first though.

Now, as for his hitting approach...

If Santana is "fine" and taking ground balls why is he unavailable to play?

Trainers advised against. Also, I would guess having a swollen eye might be a bit of a hindrance?

I love Smalley, he was my neighbor for a while when I was a kid. I sure get worn out listening to him bloviate about every little thing.

Yes, but then I wouldn't classify that as being "fine". He should get Chris Sabo goggles.

Heh ... talk about a word sounding like what it is.

His wife could be a little high maintenance though. Years ago I was at a party and was chatting with 4-5 guys including Smalley. His wife was in a group of women next to us, and she was complaining about Roy being on the road all the time. Roy excused himself and turned to the group of women and said (in his best Chico Escuala voice): "Christine, need I remind you...baseball been beddy beddy good...to you"

He doesn't have it. Take him out while you've still got a shot with Swarzak.

I was hoping for that with nobody out in the 1st.

Nice to see Correia get some breaks his way. He's still got a long ways to go to overcome the Colabello effect (in right field) that killed his ERA in April. But his FIP is almost identical to Gibson and much better than Nolasco, so hopefully things even out eventually. Too many people putting his couple bad starts in May with his bad luck the first month, and chalking it up as him being poor all year.

That's awesome. He lived next door when I was in HS. Great guy, great neighbor, but I was a little bit awed by him at the time.

To answer my question: Today is the last day I want to see KC.

Hey, he's on pace for a 196 pitch CGSHO!

He is a good guy. And being a sartorial challenged guy myself, Roy has perhaps the greatest hair of all time!

I'm rooting for him to succeed, but I'm afraid, I'm going have the same feeling for him that I did for Blackburn every time Gardy rolled him out.

Correia must like living on the edge.

Anyone know his middle name? I'm guessing it's Danger.
