GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 > watching a pitcher walk Ol' Gardy's probably regretting not batting for Nolascosie right about now.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Or he could get lucky and have a nice August and September followed by an offseason extension... I've seen this show before.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 At least Sansoball didn't hurt us this time. One more, Ricky.
cmathewson Provisional Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Seriously? He walked the pitcher?
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 I would rather La Bombo at this point. Thanks for the vote of confidence, but my angry face is nowhere near as fearsome as Ronald's... http://media.nj.com/yankees_main/photo/8949073-large.jpg

GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 "The cardinal sin" -Bert Blyleven Drink! BRB, running low.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 > the walked pitcher scores... Looked for a moment like Nolasco might get out of it, getting a strike out and a fly out with the bases loaded, but a bases clearing double down the line says different. Just doubled the lead.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Well, that went poorly. Other than their pitching, fielding, and hitting, they've been mostly ok.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 When do we get bases loaded doubles? We used to get those sometimes, didn't we?
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 When do we get bases loaded doubles? We used to get those sometimes, didn't we? First you need a series of HBP and a walk or two followed by outfielders colliding. But, yes, it can happen.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 When do we get bases loaded doubles? We used to get those sometimes, didn't we? Depends on how long it takes Mad Bum to reach his pitch count limit...
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Other than their pitching, fielding, and hitting, they've been mostly ok. Give them a break, they're using seven infielders out there.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Mauer one K away from the expensive hat.
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Joe with the hat trick. i long for the days of him being able to slap it over the shortstop's head.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Give them a break, they're using seven infielders out there.Of the current lineup, only Dozier and probably Zukes field their current positions better than Sandoval, who makes Mo Vaughn look like a sleek, gloved gazelle.
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Joe with the hat trick. i long for the days of him being able to slap it over the shortstop's head.Or to the shortstop, for that matter.

Johnny sneers, audience laughs, Johnny opens envelope Karnak (reads envelope): by how much did Mauer miss the ball on his three strikeouts today
NorthwestTwinsFan Provisional Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Joe Mauer....not an All Star.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 At least Swarzy is showig some signs of righting the ship...
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Now pitching for the Giants, this guy...
LaBombo Verified Member Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 In a blowout like this, Gardy was right to put player relations ahead of desired outcome by paying Herrmann the courtesy of letting him pinch hit for Swarzy.

Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Nice stops by Mauer.yes
Guest Guests Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 Oh good, it's Matt the MopTeam construction comment/criticism: good teams use games when they have a large lead or deficit to give innings to their up-and-coming pitchers so they can have major league experience. What good is it for future team development to give garbage innings to Guerrier? I'd rather see what A.J. Achter or Matt Hoffman, among others, can do.
