Oh, I'm sure he's eligible. The question is twofold. How many pitchers? Which ones? It's worth noting that the Twins only have 15 active position players, one of whom is Niko Goodrum. A veteran MLB guy like Matt Hague might have been a useful player to have around, especially with Sano likely out.

It's pretty clear to me that Gee needs a spot on the WC roster. At the expense of whom is a seperate issue, but he has restored order to a game that was threatening to spiral badly out of control.

I would assume he took that mostly on his own. If you aren't giving the green light to your #3 hitter, who does get it? But then, most teams don't ask their #3 hitter to bunt. Twice. In a week.

Duffey is kinda pitching for a playoff roster spot. I honestly can't imagine the Twins having more than 10 active pitchers. Frankly, that might be too many.
