  1. Eric Longenhagen of FanGraphs reported that several rule changes are being implemented in the minor leagues. Much like the automated strike zone before it, these rules are being tested in the minors before potentially being implemented in the big leagues. The motivation behind the changes appear to revolve around pace, increasing balls in play and encouraging more action on the bases. Not all changes will be tested at all levels, but among the items new for 2026 are that check swings will be called at a 45-degree angle and that the actual second-base bag will move in about nine inches toward the plate to be inside the baseline diamond instead of centered on top of it.

  3. Here's a rundown of a handful of Twins topics. Byron Buxton was hit by a pitch while playing for Team USA, but he's going to be okay. Joe Ryan, who is ramping up after a back injury, hopes to join Buck on Team USA soon. The Spring Breakout preliminary rosters were revealed. I'm excited to see some of the 2025 Draft class play in that prospect showcase. A couple of important items to monitor this spring are the velo of Bailey Ober and Liam Hendriks. Early returns are not encouraging, but it is still early. View full video

  5. Minnesota Twins ace Pablo López is expected to miss the entire 2026 season. How do the Twins move forward? In this video, I discuss the Plan B options for both the rotation and the bullpen. I also previewed this year's class of top contenders for Sire of Fort Myers down in spring training. View full video

  7. Minnesota Twins owner Tom Pohlad has made a poor first impression, but he's proven to be more self aware than his family members who were formerly front and center. He's admitted past mistakes and acknowledged they need to do better to win back fans. Some of the early ticket promotions and pricing are an encouraging sign that the organization realizes the hot water they're in with fans.

  9. The Twins have agreed to a two-year, $14 million deal with Victor Caratini. What does that mean for the catcher position? How will the Twins open up a spot on their 40-man roster for him? Also discussed in this video are the additions of Eric Wagaman, Vidal Bruján, and Orlando Arcia. The final topic is regarding the Twins fighting with Joe Ryan over $500K and how that might impact their relationship. View full video

  11. Dan Hayes of The Athletic reported this morning that there are actually three limited partner groups involved in the partial sale of the Minnesota Twins, not two as was previously expected. And Michael Russo, also of The Athletic, added this evening that Wild owner Craig Leipold is among those involved in one of the limited partner groups. Also, the Twins signed a guy! Josh Bell is joining the Twins on a one-year, $7 million deal. As things stand, it appears he'd slot in as the primary first baseman, but there's a lot of offseason left. View full video

  13. ESPN published a ranking of players who could be traded this offseason, and Minnesota Twins Byron Buxton, Joe Ryan, and Pablo López were all toward the top of the list. In this video, I provide my reaction to this article, try to figure out what the Twins would target in return, and offer up a player I'd love to see them acquire.

  15. The Twins traded tiny grit machine Payton Eeles to the Orioles for catcher Alex Jackson. In this edition of Twins 5, I share my reaction to that trade and the non-tender deadline which Trevor Larnach survived. I also speculate on the possibility Ryan Jeffers and Matt Wallner get traded, briefly discuss the Arizona Fall League and touch on DaShawn Keirsey Jr. being DFA'd. View full video

  17. The Minnesota Twins added six prospects to their 40-man roster in order to protect them from the Rule 5 Draft: Gabriel Gonzalez, John Klein, Hendry Mendez, Andrew Morris, Connor Prielipp, and Kendry Rojas. Klein is a great story, a Minnesota boy who was a long shot to ever make it this far, having originally signed with the Twins as an undrafted free agent. The Twins also acquired reliever Eric Orze from the Rays. He'll step right into the MLB bullpen picture. This video includes some highlights of both Klein and Orze. View full video

  23. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli showed how out of touch he was late in an embarrassing home loss the day before the trade deadline. Here's a look back at how he confused Willi Castro and downright pissed off Griffin Jax in the same inning on July 30, 2025.
