Article: Live Twins Chat with Seth Tonight at 7!
Paul Pleiss replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Can't make the chat, but curious to know which prospect will have the biggest impact on the 2013 Twins, and whether you think Arcia will see time with the big league ball club before 2013 is through. -

Paul spent the weekend up in Minnesota attending TwinsFest, drinking beer and talking baseball. As a result, he sounds both hungover and lifeless on the podcast, but there's still lots of great content. Apologies to the listener for the audio quality at points during the recording as Paul was using his AWESOME (sarcasm) travel laptop for recording, thus you can literally hear the computer fan whirring in the background trying to keep the computer from exploding. We are joined towards the end of the episode by Jose Bosch (@HJBosch21 from Motor City Bengals to take a look at the Detroit Tigers off-season. We also discuss Tony Oliva, Matthew Summersand a comprehensive review of TwinsFest and the cat video guy. Article: 10 Things To Do And See At TwinsFest
Paul Pleiss replied to Kirsten Brown's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
BASEBALL! Woot! -
I think KG has the biggest impact in 2013, he'll be a welcome addition to a starting rotation that I anticipate will struggle to put up quality starts. That being said, I expect Gibson will take his lumps and have some growing pains as he adjusts to MLB baseball. I hope all the youngsters get a chance to come up and play this year and start to perform at the big league level.
-
What makes you think Roberts will be able to produce similiar numbers at AA? His limited time in low-A? A small sample in the AFL? I like Roberts, but until we see him put together a full season at a level where he is not considerably older than the average player projecting him to great success is a big stretch. I like Roberts, and I hope you're right, but I think "These numbers, coupled with the small sample of 2012's Arizona Fall League stats make me think that Nate has exactly what it takes to put up similar numbers in Double-A this year" is just going too far. I want you to be right, and my fingers are crossed that you will be.

Article: CAMPAIGN: Elect Joe Mauer for #2 Hitter
Paul Pleiss replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I like Mauer at 2, Eric and I discussed just this idea a couple episodes ago on Talk To Contact, Mauer looks good at 2, especially with the big bats behind him to bring him around the bases. -
Will Target Field ever host a minor league game?
Paul Pleiss replied to righty8383's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
Living out in Seattle I don't get to watch much Twins baseball, affiliated clubs or otherwise, but my love for the minor leagues would probably get me to plan a trip back to the great state of MN to see some of our young stars playing in the big league ball club. 2014 will be an exciting time to be a MN baseball fan with the ASG, and more exciting for me, the Futures game. I look forward to hearing more about prospects playing at Target Field. -
Dream big on this little guy, I like what I'm reading. I think the later half of this decade will see a lot of W's and a lot of great baseball in Minnesota.

Jim, I recommend getting enough "Hello my name is" stickers to cover all relevant aliases, or if only wearing one, then use the most obscure alias and remain well below the radar.
