  1. Let's hope that Bark is correct and like Torii Hunter, Hicks will eventually break out. And note that Torii did not fool around with switch hitting. On the other hand, Hicks was a great pitcher in high school with superior velocity, and who knows whether he could become a great pitcher in the majors.
  2. Revere does not seem to be very thin skinned, but I could be wrong. I just don't understand why the faster guy is not playing in center field, and I have seen plays that Span failed to make that I believe that Revere would probably have made.
  3. I am glad that I missed that inning.
  4. If you were the pitching coach, what pitch would you suggest that Liam develop as his "out" pitch. When I saw him pitch in Anaheim (the night that Weaver shut the Twins out), Hendriks seemed to lack any pitch that is even moderately filthy. Maybe he will always be a control guy who can change speeds, but it would be nice of he could develop an "out" pitch.
  5. I continue to believe that Revere belongs in center field, because of his amazing range, and because he is more fun to watch in center than Span. This is a crappy season anyway, so why not at least let the fans enjoy more Revere webgems. Revere is so fast that he could shade towards left field to provide some support for Willingham, and Span could play right field and shade a bit towards center. It seems to me that such configuration would make for a superior defense that would be fun to watch.
  6. Another excellent point. Maybe he is a phenom and will indeed become the next Willie Mays. Willie took about 4 years to make it to the show. There is at least a chance that Buxton will have a HOF career -- he clearly has great tools, but it remains to be seen whether he is one of the lucky few who can put it all together. His high upside gives reason to be optimistic.
  7. What you are saying makes a lot of sense to me. However, if Buxton gets off to a good start, it might be possible to trade him for a stud pitcher who might be ready by 2015. I think that might be part of the rationale for drafting the best player available.
  8. Welcome new member!
  9. And he has good velocity, so maybe they should try him as a pitcher-outfielder. It worked for Babe Ruth, at least while he was young.
  10. Let's hope that Liriano can keep up the good pitching.
  11. Great explanation, Chief.
  12. Gray throwing his fastball at 95 mph, but very flat.
  13. We could use a double play here to end this game.
  14. Two high school RHPs so far -- let's hope that they can sign both of them and that at least one of them works out.
  15. You called it my friend.
  16. Carroll is raising his average tonight -- 3 for 3, including a triple and a stolen base.
  17. Let's hope that he is good -- he will be their compensation for losing Cuddyer.
  18. Every Twin has at least one hit, with the exception of Span and Doumit. A nice balanced attack.
  19. The radar gun is saying that some of his fastballs are hitting 95 mph.
  20. Agreed. That would be ideal. Burnett's stuff looks very good tonight.
  21. Burnett looks pretty good tonight -- he might be able to handle another inning or two.
  22. I also would have sent him. Hopefully Burnett can bail this out.
  23. Great performance by Carroll tonight.
  24. I fully admit that.
