  1. I missed the game entirely and wonder what the people who watched the game have to say about this.
  2. Thanks for this excellent report. I am especially glad to read the good news about Colabello and Buxton.
  3. Thanks for this excellent report.
  4. I got my bet in at 68 and am feeling good about it.
  5. This is unexpected good news, but I plan to keep my expectations low. With all the young players and new pitchers, there is a lot that can go wrong. Also, low expectations make winning even sweeter.
  6. Nice game thread and another big win for the Twins.
  7. Excellent (first string) report, and count me among those who like the links to the box scores.
  8. For me the bottom line is that our system confers huge benefits to married people -- including tax benefits, inheritance rights and rights to social security survivor benefits. Do you believe that gay couples should not be able to get all of the same benefits as heterosexual couples? If not, then why? My sense is that ultimately all the arguments against gay marriage have a religious/cultural basis. That's not new. The arguments in favor of slavery and against female voting were very similar. The Bible talks about putting men to death for homosexuality, and it also has passages supporting slavery and women not having equal rights. Sadly, my experience has been that most people never sit down and actually read the Bible. My experience has been that there is a lot of value there, but also a lot that makes little sense, including the concept of putting people to death because they are homosexuals. Unless we want to trample on people's first amendment rights to be free from other people's religions, it seems to me that government policies should be based on religiously neutral principles.
  9. I am not sure how you come to 9 games, but I agree with your thesis that at some point it might make sense to send him down. But if Hicks goes to triple A, who should the Twins bring up to replace him?
  10. I think that some patience may pay off here. He is jumping to the majors from AA.
  11. That's good news. I was watching Oriole feed and they did not mention it (or I was typing when they did). What a great win this was, and Parmelee got to be a hero.
  12. Parmelee -- great catch -- but Mastro would have made it look easier.
  13. Es-co-BAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Put Mastro in RF (or LF) this inning for his defense?
  15. Be glad that they don't have a HVAC system.
  16. Nice hit up the middle by Justin.
  17. Justin needs to hit the ball solidly here.
  18. It looked like he wanted to hit it out.
  19. A fantastic time has come true.
  20. Hicks not having a good at bat.
  21. Agreed. I think that he hung the curveball once, but luckily the batter missed it.
  22. Roenicke is impressing me. I hope that he stays healthy.
  23. I would suggest a pitching change if Hardy gets on -- Roenicke looks spent.
