  1. Reading the Dodger message boards (geez talk about smug), they're wondering about Capuano for Perkins. I'd hate to see that. Would Robertson (from LA area) and Pugh work?
  2. If Angel Pagan's asking price becomes too high, the Giants may be another option for Span/Revere. Not sure what they have to offer, though.
  3. Looking toward 2014 and 2015, WWBBD, What would Billy Beane do? Not that I think he's the greatest GM, but he does like to take risks. If 2013 is felt to be a lost year, I think he would blow up this team, and trade Span, Morneau and Willingham for primarily pitching. Beane also likes to make unorthodox trades like trading his players of highest value even if he creates a possible team weakness . I could see Beane trading Perkins and Diamond for middle infielders and low minors pitching prospects. Perkins has little value to another 90 loss Twins team, but like Bailey for the A's could bring back a decent return. Diamond is no Gio Gonzales or Trevor Cahill, but his value may never be higher and everyone needs pitching. Toronto would have been a good trading partner (for one of their MI's) before their big trade, because he's from the area. (The opinions expressed are not mine, but my imaginary Billy Beane)
  4. This is great for Mike Redmond, he gets to manage a naked roster
  5. 8. Carroll, J, SS 9. Florimon, P, SS in honor of Nishioka, the Twins will play without a 2B today
  6. I'm surprised they let Hendriks throw 124 pitches. Both Hicks and Arcia left their games early, any report of injuries?
  7. I wonder if it would be worth looking into trading for Travis Snider from Toronto. He's still young at 24, he's lost some luster, stuck at AAA, hasn't been able to stick at the majors, may need change of scenery. Mashes RH pitching OPS 1.146 (but only .530 vs LH). Platoon with Plouffe?
  8. I live in the area, and even though he (and Max Fried) have signed letters of intent to UCLA, I haven't read anything locally to indicate he is leaning toward college. He does go to a very prestigious private college prep high school, and I wonder if there will be some personal desire or family pressure to experience college. I plan to see him pitch on March 16 against Crespi High ( Trevor Plouffe's alma mater). I'm no scout, but last year I got to see Gerrit Cole and Trevor Bauer pitch at UCLA, and I liked Bauer more.
