You know, I read pretty much all of the minor league updates, and I don't think I've ever seen the name Blake Martin before. Maybe I just forgot.

Right. He should have had that, and he did. So that's good. It looked nice though. I'd like to see him turn one too.

That last play by Rosario was pretty decent. He got a good jump on that ball.

It's going to be difficult to write that final paper tonight with that game on. I hope he hits two dingers.

I just noticed that when I was at the game on Friday. I was disappointed when I first heard it.

How are managers supposed to get thrown out of the game now if they can just challenge the play?
  7. James
I heard those taste like snozzberries.

Ooh. Delmon Young just refused his assignment to AAA and has been released by the Phillies.

And now, I'm angry. At least as angry as I can be about this situation.

It's definitely going to be close.

I need 73 to win a bet with my friend. I don't know why I was so confident with that number. On the plus side, we had a side bet on which team would win the season series between the Twins and White Sox. I think the Twins only need to win one more of those to clinch that bet for me.

    Whew! Way to go Perk!

Is that 7 runs in one game without a homerun?
  14. James
He's really been on a roll. Or, as Gardy would say, "the ball is really coming out his hand."
  15. James
How is that egg on your face?
  16. James
Are there classes for this? If so, where might one find them?
  17. James
    That's another new sabermetric thing.
  18. James
Gardy is trying all kinds of stuff he wouldn't normally do this year.

I'm at work, and I'm still posting. The trick is, make it look like you're doing work.

It's double day! It's double day!

Where did you see this? I've only seen PTBNL or cash. I would have thought that they would get a player out of it, but I'm not sure how great that player will be. I voted for org filler, but I hope they at least get some sort of pitching prospect, relief or otherwise. I wouldn't expect Dayton Moore to overpay, at least not as much as Ned Colletti seems to have done with Butera.

I'm left handed. Overall, it's pretty awesome. Except for the rampant discrimination in scissor industry.

There's also a chance that a team like the Yankees might claim him so a team like the Orioles or Rays couldn't. Even if they knew that they didn't actually want him. I don't think GM used to claim players to block other teams from getting them, but I think it's something that definitely happens now. I'm not 100% which was the best option really. There was solid logic to put him on waivers on Aug 1st, and there was solid logic to wait and see if he heats up to maximize the return. My guess is that he's claimed by a non-contender, and we're not offered a whole lot. My preference would be that he makes it all the way to the Dodgers, because Ned Colletti seems to enjoy overpaying for players.

Ned Colletti to JR: "Yeah, Sulbaran will work for us." After deal is finalized, JR to Ned: "You know, I was kind of joking when I brought his name up originally. I didn't think you'd actually go for it. Thanks though."
