  1. No they should have used him in the 6th. He’s walked far too many guys this year. Way above career average for an entire season already. I know classic baseball strategy is not allowed in 2022 but You don’t use a guy with poor control in the 8/9. His career save number is irrelevant.
  2. Yeah I’d rather have 3 outs to make up a deficit then 9. For sure, yeah.
  3. So then you know he’s blown three saves in the 8th inning alone, then?
  4. Did you watch those games or just cherry pick some numbers?
  5. It’s on the manager to put the players in the situation where they have shown to perform the best. The 8th/9th innings are not those situations for pagan. Rocco can keep doing it and the twins can keep losing. No sweat off my head
  6. Yup, the problems begin with a starter continually only going 4 innings. Not many other options right now with injuries and such but that really hamstrings a bullpen and manager when you continually have to fill 5 innings every time the guy starts
  7. Who says he would face the bottom? You’re assuming. Higher leverage late inning situations exist and some guys do better than others. Anyone who has seen pagan pitch this year could not possibly be as comfortable with him out there in the 8th or 9th than in the 6th or 7th.
  8. Again, would you rather have three at bats to overcome a deficit or one (or none)?
  9. It does matter. I’d rather blow a lead in the 6th with pagan than in the 8th. Anyone who’s watched most twins games knows that pagan is not a reliable last inning (or even 8th inning) guy.
  10. Use your closer in the 6th inning and you deserve to lose
  11. There’s no better time for buxton to be on the IL. If he’s so hurt that he’s going to be 50% the player that he can be, then he needs to sit. In the rare event he even gets on base, he can’t steal. This play one day, miss a day, maybe DH the next day is not working for him. He’s more a hindrance than a help and maybe it would be wise to hold him out officially. And I always grew up thinking guys would play everyday unless they’re legitimately injured. Load management hurts teams like the twins with minimal depth. Baseball didn’t just start playing 162 games, and they played a heck of a lot more doubleheaders back in the day.
  12. This club cannot be allowed to make the postseason or the playoff losing streak will most definitely reach 21 games. Please step in, MLB, for the integrity of the game and to save me the embarrassment of having to face my friends.
  13. What’s this “we” business?
  14. Have to beat the best to be the best
  15. The twins have two, TWO, wins against teams with winning records. Tampa, way back when
  16. Ryan and Gray and pray pray pray
  17. Might have to put a hard hat on while watching Ober pitch. He’s been falling back to earth
  18. They’ve won 40% of their games against two teams, Detroit and Kansas City
  19. Personally if the twins aren’t built to end their playoff losing streak, I’d rather them miss out on the postseason. I’ve seen enough playoff losses and this team, as constructed, instills little confidence in their october abilities
  20. I couldn’t be less excited about a team than I am this one.
  21. Buxton catches that. Not this year but other years.
  22. This offense is literal melatonin oh my god
