  1. I don’t pretend to know the situation in New England but there has been a one and done coach almost every year since 2015. Frank reich (2023) panthers Nathaniel Hackett (2023) broncos Lovie smith (2022) Texans david culley (2021) Texans Urban Meyer (2021) jags Freddie kitchens (2019) browns Steve wilks (2018) cardinals chip Kelly (2016) niners Jim tomsula (2015) niners and let’s not forget our own one year guy, Les Steckel
  2. Disagree. Frazier’s record was far worse than zimmer’s. He had no QB but Peterson carried that team that year he almost set the rushing record. Zimmer got to a NFCCG with keenum. Also Denny green lost his first 4 playoff games and still managed 10 seasons as the head coach
  3. That would be pretty gross, timing wise
  4. One of the talking heads wondered if it was something the KOC camp put out there, since contract talks haven’t started yet.
  5. I think one thing that didn’t really get mentioned was how Detroit gained some serious momentum with how they approached that game in SF. Didn’t really have anything to play for, had a zillion injuries coming in, and still chose to play their starters. Had to fight back after being down, and their defense, which was terrible, made the plays to win. Looking back, that should have been an ominous sign. They approached that entire situation in what seems like the perfect way.
  6. What was with that “KOC is a trade option” story that breaks on the morning of the game of the year? Curious timing to say the least
  7. Well he’s going to get at least one shot to restore everyone’s faith. I still want him back. I was just struck yesterday at how young JJMc is when they showed him on the broadcast. He looks like a child 😂
  8. Lol I’m just speaking as a fan. WHY CANT IT BE US ONCE MIKE WHY
  9. That’s just so bad and painful to watch.
  10. This reminded me of the jaguars game where he kept throwing those picks in the red zone. It seemed like he was worried about turning it over so much that he just held it for longer than he should have. Maybe I’m wrong but it seemed like he was much quicker to take off and run earlier in the season.
  11. It’s hard not to be so bitter as a Vikings fan when you realize Doug ****ing pederson won a Super Bowl at our expense, in our own stadium, and has now been unceremoniously kicked to the curb twice.
  12. Is it fair to say yesterday was the de facto NFCCG? Is that why this hurts so bad 😂
  13. The only thing I will say as far as the coaching is concerned. If you recognize that your quarterback has pee running down his leg, you maybe have to try something other than lining him up in shotgun 90% of the time inside the ten. Maybe run the ball or run a quick screen like they did last week against GB. Got them a touchdown on that play. KOC just kept trying to hammer the square peg in the round hole. If you can’t pickup 2-5 yards in 4 plays on the ground then I guess you don’t belong on the field. I don’t know. Then again, it seems like Aaron jones has a great quarter or so then just disappears. I don’t know if was injury related or what, but man KOC abandons the run faster than anyone I’ve ever seen.
  14. I honestly think this is a thing that just hangs over the franchise. Everyone is always waiting for the bottom to fall out and not many franchises are like that. I don’t know how you fix it until you get a group of guys that just say enough. Like the Red Sox in ‘04. And you might be able to get by with a lineman who lacks confidence but it can’t be from your quarterback. Every season has moments where plays have to be made and the championship teams make enough of those plays. The losers don’t and that’s what we saw last night. Reminded me a bit of the saints championship game with the turnovers. We were all just waiting for another missed pass in a crucial spot.
  15. Yeah the ball should have already been out in that picture I posted above. And he’s not even ready to throw it. That’s mental stuff right there. It’s been a long time since I saw a guy actually scared on a field like that. Joe Nathan pitching to the Yankees in 2009 (I think) comes to mind
  16. Tonight was such a gut punch to the organization in a lot of ways. To be exposed like that on a national stage.
  17. I guess the good news is that he became a whole lot cheaper tonight. I’m just stunned by what happened tonight. the inaccuracy from last week’s big game was noted, but he ended up making some key throws and overcoming that interception he threw. I really didn’t think Sam would melt like this. Now what? Does he come back and have another great regular season….but the entire time we all are thinking he will wilt in the playoffs? That kind of stuff becomes sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
  18. Look how wide open Addison was on 4th down in the 3rd quarter. This would have given the Vikings the lead. He’s looking right at him 🤦‍♂️ I was an average at best QB in high school and the quick slant is probably the easiest throw to make. Clearly this play was designed to go to Addison
  19. Yeah next week could be a redemption week against a weaker opponent. But regardless…even with a win, you’re going to Detroit or Philly. Unless the unimaginable happens and both GB and Washington win. They they’d have a home game.
  20. The offense just made no adjustments. No screens, no draws. Not even any quick passes to the flat. They even said on the broadcast well into the 4th quarter how receivers were running downfield routes against the cover 0 all out blitz. If you’re going to be labeled an offensive genius I feel like you’re got to game plan out of that
  21. This all went from gold to 💩 in one week. Not because of the loss. It’s really hard to see a guy look frightened. I really didn’t expect that. Thought it wouldn’t be an issue considering his career trajectory. You just can’t be scared and have it affect your play. Not in this league where things are literally decided by inches
  22. I mean, yes the crowd was wild and loud and it was a national game. But if he performed like this in not even a playoff game….if they have the misfortune of playing in Philly, he might need a catheter
  23. The worst part is that he has the physical talent. You expect a guy like ponder or keenum or Joe Webb to struggle in those games. Darnold put together a top ten season and just completely fell apart mentally. There were a couple flashes of it last week but I thought overall he played well. Off the top of my head I can’t think of another playoff or playoff type game where I saw a Vikings QB look so rattled for the entire game. Even cousins had 2/3 good playoff games. Maybe Tarvaris Jackson against the eagles? But again, he didn’t have the talent.
  24. The lions had two turnovers and two failed 4th down conversions and still won by 22 points
  25. Is what Darnold did more shocking than the fact that KOC was wildly out coached
