  1. Nice job by the Houston defense
  2. Former Viking Kris Boyd with the penalty for taking his helmet off 😂
  3. Wow right out of the gate, action. Big missed chance by Houston. Already half the distance to the goal for KC 😑
  4. Jets interviewed Flores yesterday
  5. Looking more like a wintry mix now. Could still get 4” there. And it starts too early to move the game up. I don’t know if I love playoff games happening in unreasonably poor weather but I guess we’ll find out
  6. Looks that way!
  7. Rams and eagles going to be played in a snowstorm on Sunday. Advantage: eagles
  8. I just realized how much I curse on the game threads. I’d like to apologize (seriously) it’s easier than pressing the * I guess 😂
  9. Yeah I’m hoping to see one before my dad goes. We both have suffered together. Two idiots in Pennsylvania who chose to be fans of teams in Minnesota. Last night my mom asked why we don’t just put teams in a hat and pick a new one lol in her defense she’s been asking that for years!
  10. I said they have nothing to show for their record, and nothing to show for having a good year healthwise which is true. You can appreciate the fun times of the season (I will eventually) while still recognizing it ultimately ended in failure.
  11. Haha what else is there? My dad is 70 years old and I looked at him last night and I’m like, this guy may legitimately never see a Super Bowl win and he’s been a fan his entire life. I’ve thought about that before but he had heart surgery over the summer and it hit me this time. He’s been right there with me watching all these losses. That’s really sad, as far as being a fan goes. Just give me one and I’ll enjoy the ride. Til then, 14 win wild card exits don’t move the needle
  12. Ok, either way, it’s not usually something you can count on repeating because it’s largely out of anyone’s control. I wonder how 2023 would have gone with this year’s health and vice versa. It seems like the league is becoming more of one of attrition since they added the extra game. The healthiest teams are surely more successful. This guy attempts to quantify it for 2024 https://www.sportsinfosolutions.com/2024/12/26/which-nfl-teams-have-been-most-and-least-impacted-by-injuries/ Seems to make sense in the Vikings case. 13th in total points per game missed to IR, but 6th fewest total points lost overall. Had a couple long term IR guys like but less missed on the shorter term (I would assume)
  13. Big deal, one more game played than 18 other teams.
  14. The Vikings were not beating prime SF on the road in 2020. It was not happening. But Kirk won them that game in New Orleans the week prior. The dime he dropped to thielen and then the fade pass to Rudolph on 4th down in OT were arguably the throws of his career. Maybe some day Darnold can do that for some other team, but it won’t be for Minnesota from the sound of it.
  15. Really seems like we’re heading towards Bills Chiefs for the umpteenth time. Ravens and chiefs would be fun, ravens don’t bother me as a team. I want to believe that the rams could beat the eagles but I get a strong “they shot their ****” vibe from LA. But I’ll be pulling for them hard. Washington is a little scary but in no way do I think they’re better than the lions. I would love to see Detroit lose, their fans have gotten very obnoxious very quickly.
  16. And that’s why they were slow walking to the LOS and running draw plays with 8 minutes left down by 3 scores. I think there just wasn’t anything to call. He was throwing hospital passes. Even the TD pass was wildly inaccurate But that could also be a criticism of the coaching. If you’re at the point where one guy is preventing you from attempting to run an offense, maybe you ought to sub him out. I know Mullens is kind of looked at as a joke (and I’m certainly not suggesting any outcome would have been different), but isn’t it a little surprising that he wasn’t put in? Like I said, the passes from Darnold were so inaccurate, I think the receivers were a bit like “**** this”. Kind of surprised they didn’t toss him in there and let him throw it all over the joint like a crazy person.
  17. One of the things not being mentioned regarding this season, and going forward, is how healthy this team was in 2024. Compared to 2023, well there is no comparison. One vital player lost to IR, but overall, an incredible amount of luck in regards to injuries. Knowing how tough that is to replicate, I would not expect that to repeat next season. And that’s scary, we were almost entirely healthy the whole season and still couldn’t do anything with it.
  18. I would agree on the coaching but not even LOOKING at Justin Jefferson when a screen pass to him was called (and actually set up well)….that’s where Darnold loses me. Similar to Detroit, he had guys open. Like, possibly big gains too. The plan, whatever it looked like from the outside, was not executed by the quarterback. It’s unfortunate that the sport is set up to have so much emphasis on one position, but that’s what it is. You don’t have to be great or elite but you can’t be terrible and detrimental to your team’s chances, you can’t be a net negative. All the winners over the weekend had competent quarterback play for the entire game. And all the losers didn’t. I can’t think of one winner that did so in spite of their quarterback. Even Hurts, 2 TD, 0 picks 111 rating. It was sort of crazy to go for it in that situation before the half, but the rams would have had about two minutes and a timeout to work with. I imagine a punt would have also ended in points allowed (although maybe 3 and not 7)
  19. Kirk was competent to good in 2/3 playoff games though. Sam has looked like Joe Webb. You can lose but you can’t lose like THAT. I think it’s very taxing on a defense when they’re giving the offense opportunities and they’re doing nothing with it. Huge part of the last two games
  20. Same era the lions did, back when there were like 10 teams. It counts as there was no “Super Bowl” type came between leagues
  21. This here is the worst part. They could win another 12+ games next season and all the while, nobody is going to believe in them because of the QB. And that nobody includes the team. If you show you melt under the pressure, everyone waits for it to happen, like a self-fulfilling prophecy
  22. It will be interesting to see if Kirk is any better next year, with the extra recovery time for his Achilles. He is not as bad a qb as he showed in Atlanta
  23. Next year McCarthy will take the snaps and just sit down. Only logical progression
  24. The psyche of an athlete is extremely complicated
  25. Am I the only one who just KNOWS that the rams will lay an egg against the eagles? Something tells me that Philly fans won’t give a flip about the wildfires lol
