  1. Well it looked for a second like we’d get a quick inning
  2. Perez would have hit that hanger to the moon a few years back
  3. If the twins get 4 innings out of ME tonight, it’ll be a miracle
  4. I was just going to say this but decided for once to hold off on the negativity
  5. Peter, I hurt my brain trying to read this
  6. Who’s the next long inning reliever we call up 😂
  7. Both guys have been used interchangeably a lot during the last couple seasons though. Granted, I never pitched above middling division 3, but I was always a proponent of relievers knowing what roles they have. Of course, everything goes out the window when your starters constantly get knocked out before they can go 5 or 6 innings.
  8. Not having starters pitch into or past the 5th inning so often is really hurting. Twins have averaged 4.4 IP for starters. Which shockingly is only 15th in MLB
  9. I wouldn’t blame this loss on the manager. I just believe there should be a 9th inning guy if he’s shown to be solid in that spot. Duran is generally a better 9th inning save guy. If nothing else he seems to struggle outside of that, although not today. I still believe the 9th inning is a different animal and some guys are better suited for it. Why Jax can’t just set him up is odd to me. If they’re both good relievers, which I think most agree they are.
  10. Numbers over the last several years don’t support using Jax over Duran for the 9th inning. The 9th inning is different and most people who have ever pitched competitively will agree. For a team relying on analytics, it’s baffling that they continue to employ this method of getting the last 6 outs. That being said, it was a dreadful day for almost everyone who pitched today. And that’s not on the manager.
  11. The starter experiment was bound to fail, but I thought he’d do better once he got back in the pen. So far not so.
  12. Gotta be able to hold a 7-1 lead, as much as I dislike the manager
  13. Is there a varland excuse for today like there usually is ?
  14. What a terrible job by the pitching staff.
  15. My stats were wrong. Duran had 2 blown saves in 25 chances last year
  16. Duran had 2 blown saves in 25 chances in 2024 Jax had 6 blown saves in 16 chances
  17. Jax’s numbers trying to get the last 3 outs are so much worse than when he’s used otherwise. Cant tell me there’s nothing to it.
  18. Jax has never been a successful closer. Duran has been. Why we deviate I’ll never know.
  19. Baseball shouldn’t start til mid April at the earliest. Going to be wind chills in the low 20s where I am on Tuesday
