  1. Dick: "A high pop-up to right." That carries to the warning track.
  2. A great mind thinks alike.
  3. Well, if you're going to serve up a softball like this one..... Yes.
  4. Only if those whom the mascots depict object to them.
  5. I think it's more like 39 Kelvin.
  6. If it's way early to be casting judgement then it's way early to call his selection a bust pick.
  7. Anyone else remember this early swing on a change-up? http://www.sbnation.com/lookit/2013/8/30/4678130/trevor-plouffe-strikes-out-on-yu-darvishs-61-mph-pitch
  8. I'm sorry, what did you say? I fell asleep.
  9. My middle son, who is 20 years old, has been doing this for a long time. He researched Jason Belmonte, who was the first two-handed pro bowler to have significant success, and determined that it was the way to go. He doesn't bowl regularly but he has had several games over 200.
  10. I was at the game on 4/26/86. My recollection of the circumstances is a bit different. First, I don't think there was a tear. If that had been the case the roof would have completely deflated. I do remember water cascading down into the upper deck but I think it was from another source. From what I recollect I believe it was a combination of two things. First, the dome operators had instituted the practice of lowering the internal pressure in the late innings to reduce the wind effect that occurred when leaving the stadium through open doors. I think they were concerned about injuries that could result. Second, there was a downburst resulting in a brief, strong, straight-line wind that, coupled with the lower-than-usual pressure made huge waves in the roof as it blew through. I'm sure I wasn't the only one who envisioned a funnel cloud outside. It was quite unsettling seeing the roof do what it did, but everything and everyone quickly calmed down in short order. Everyone except for RD.
  11. Actually it only came to me right at the end. Couldn't resist using it.
  12. Our long Nationals nightmare is over.
  13. The longest English word with all letters in the left-hand portion of a standard keyboard is aftercataracts. (This is the type of thing we're reduced to discussing in a game such as this.)
  14. You and your Marney fixation.
  15. OK Buck, here's an opportunity.
  16. Less than 100%. My son is bat L/throw L but writes right-handed.
  17. It's interesting (to a few people, anyway) that almost all baseball players who bat R/throw L are pitchers.
  18. I know what you mean. Normally I'd click Like This but that didn't seem quite right.
  19. That's what happens in the big leagues when you throw a nothing pitch.
  20. Solid single by Zuke. All we need is about 12 more of those in a row.
