    Nice thing is that we went almost 2 months hovering around 1st place. Was a good run.

    One of Pressely's problems was his inability to hit the outside corners He was constantly tossing in the middle of the plate. Even when the pitch was suppose to be tossed to the inside or outside.

    I enjoy watching the Twins, I just get frustrated with the blind praise they get from people who believe that it is an easy fix. We have struggled with pitching for a long time and the management continues to do nothing except for picking up pitchers like Wilk. I would understand if they were still in the dome but they are not. They had a brand new stadium build with the promise of spending more to field a better team and that has not happend. I am tired of the same outcome every year and I am tired of people simply saying we are in a rebuilding phase. Our minor league team is so depleted that all we have is average players and the management believes we can build around that? It is time for the Twins to either rebuild by making trades for prospects or just have this season go down the drain again because of pitching. This team will not go anywhere unless somethings are changed and not simply by having a bandaid placed on it.

    The arguement continues to revolve around what we have in AAA and I am afraid to tell you we really do not have anything that stands out. This discussion was brought up before about 3 months ago regarding how our minor league system is crap. I am a realist and refuse to be blinded by unrealistic hope regarding this team. The only and I mean the only thing this team can do to improve this team is trade away some veterans to get some prospects. Get rid of Dozier, Santana while he is still pitching well, and Vargas. We have to many holes that fans believe can simply be plugged by bringing medicore pitchers up from the minors.

    Nater makes a great point, this team continues to believe it can simply over work their bullpen year after year and year after year we see this team implode badly.

    You can almost hear the Twins train derailing. You can not argue with statistics or a terrible manager. A bunch of us have consistantly mentioned how Molitor is out of his league. If they keep everything the same we will be getting crushed in June and July.

    Put a fork in the Twins they are done. You just cant compete with quality teams without having a decent coach and quality pitchers. Major improvement from last year but this team is a long ways from actually being able to be considered a contender.

    I have horrible luck and figured if I mentioned something like I did there would be a small chance that the universe simply would do opposite. winner winner chicken dinner.

    Gibsons spot start really showed us something.......you always trust stats when dealing with baseball. The Twins will barely be a .500 team. We wont win against west and east coast teams if we dont make some serious changes. Gibson should of never gotten the start in the first place.

    I understand the entire being a fan and not being negative. I get it, but I have been a fan for 20 years and you are living a pipe dream if you think Gibson gives us any shot when he is on the mound.

    I don't hold out much hope for this series. As many posters have mentioned, the Twins simply can not handle anyone outside of their division. One of the reasons why it is so hard to be a fan is simply because the management continues to do this year after year. Our holes in our pitching is going to sink this ship. How can anyone think Gibson is a valuable option when the guy simply cant hit the corners and his fastball tops off at 90 if he is lucky. I wish this team would not wait so damn long to make any changes.

    Looking like they will play tonight, but tomorrow is a different story.

    I agree, but we have glaring holes. Our farm system is weakened and I just think his trade value is still high enough were we can get something decent in return. I dont like the idea of rolling the dice in the hopes he can start increasing his production at the plate.

    If the Twins play anyone other than people in their division we are screwed. Prime example was the RedSox. People can continue to live in a fantasy world thinking this is the little engine that could, but in reality if we do not make some serious trades for quality pitchers we will continue to be a losing team. Trade Dozier now for something to better this bullpen.

    This is the lineup I had in mind. Will be interesting to see if they just smash the hell out of the ball tonight. I disagree with the batting Mauer 2nd, I just do not understand why he continues to bat that high in the order. I also do not agree with having Dozier continuing to lead off.

    IMO alot is riding on Berrios. If he can pitch well the Twins would fill a huge hole. This would propel the Twins to being a pretender and vault them to being a contender.

    I am hoping they will sit Mauer and insert Vargas.
