  1. I don't know how you sell your outfield defense to a Free Agent Pitcher with options from other teams. Besides over paying by quite a bit. Having Arcia, Santana and Hunter out there would not inspire me to sign on the dotted line with out some Yankee/Dodger type cash and years. But maybe TR is ready to spend some Pohlad cash on a pittcher on the North side of 30.. (Reevaluting that last sentence as it felt very strange typing those words in one connected string.)
  2. Good luck to him. He seems like a good guy and the epitome of the AAAA player, which considering how the rest of us play baseball is pretty damn good. That being said it is a numbers game. The Twins have plenty of players who fit the mold of slow of foot, inconistent bat and natural position 1st base or DH. (Looking at you Chris Parmalee and Oswaldo Arcia.) With Mauer at 1st for 85 games or so a year and Vargas, Pinto, Walker and Kepler in the pipeline Toronto is probably a good place for him to play. It's not like we can just stick any slowing, defensive challenged, right handed power bat out in Right field for under 10 million or so dollars, can we? I mean where could we find such a player?
  3. Ah, you are being to rough on yourself. It is not the signing of Tori you should be having a mid life meltdown about, really what is the worst that can happen. He can't cover the gap in right center and Aaron Hicks has to spend a lot of time on the warning track, if Torii can get to the ball he will catch it and take the correct short route to the fly ball. It is Left field you should have nightmares about, think about all that space for Oswaldo Arcia to take his Willie Norwood model glove to run around like a drunk man making crop circles his Dodge ram in a Iowa Cornfield in. TR may have watched Torii for only 7 games and made that decision, but he watched Oswaldo all season long and made this decision! I love Oswaldo's bat, always have since saw him for a quick spring in Beloit. But he was hurt and could only play his natural position,DH. But my faith says Miracles happen, sports of all places have a history of them. the 69 Mets, the 1980 Olymic team, Nick Punto's career. So just keep the faith my brother, someday you maybe rewarded. Besides if being a baseball fan was supposed to be easy we would all be Yankee fans.
  4. Stop by the San Diego Zoo, fit in a couple rounds at Torrey Pines, get a good dinner in Old Town, take a cruise out to whale watch. Keep Terry Ryan out of the sun, don't trade Buxton or Sano, bring Torri Hunter along as media representitive so he can give cute endearing nicknames to press members, see if anyone wants Parmalee; Nunez; Pelfrey; Collabello. in this hemisphere or Asia. Don't sign Drew Butera for the love of god, not that I have anything against young Mr. Butera, but this might break Twitter and this website due to all the whining that would take place from now until Spring Training when he would be sent to Rochester or released. Same with Nick Punto. Sneak out for a day trip to Vegas on the Pohlad dime. Sit in the suite and make prank calls to MLB network with rumors that you are in on Lester and Scherzer, then slamthe phone and take another shot of tequila. Remind people that yes we have lost 90 games a few years in a row, but have you seen the Timberwolves...ish. Do some "holiday" shopping in Tijuana. Snuggle up with your Kindle and read the latest Nora Roberts book or take Eddie Guardado on in Candy Crush. Talk about the All Star Game, again. Walk up to Clayton Kershaw and explain to him that the Twins are not the AA affiliate of the Brewers, which he won't believe when he sees the roster but it will confuse him as to why the Brewers have Dozier and Hughes down on rehab in December. Enjoy the warm weather.
  5. Not a big deal. Shifting deck chairs around. But Nunez is a mystery to me. Not sure what he adds versus say giving Beresford a shot. So he can play sub major league skill level outfield. Chris Hermann would be more valuable to me then him, he plays better outfield and can be a sub major skill level catcher in a pinch with maybe slightly less offensive production. Duensing? Meh. Maybe Allen can get s something out f him byond what we have seen, but how valuable is that. In the long run I don't see him as a contributer, and would b more interested in seeing a young arm come up from Rochester or even Chattanooga. Seems we have a lot of arms, not all of them particularly good, coming to Fort Meyers in February. But in the long run, no big deal. We should be able to find room on the 40 man if needed. There is some people to discharge if needed, but would have put Nunez and Duensing on that list.

    Jason Wheeler

Congrats to Jason Wheeler on being added to the 40 man roster today. Well deserved considering the work he has put in and the consistency of his performance. Great news Jason!!!!
