  1. Speaking of purple, Patterson was convicted of second degree murder for killing All Day's son. I remember when that first happened ... I saw the headlines and almost dropped dead of heart failure. I was thinking, No, not our Flash ... it just can't be our Flash. Thank God it wasn't.
  2. Most of us know that the football season started a few weeks ago. More or less of us know that the Vikings wear purple. Some of us know that Always33 has been dealing with a muddled brain lately and has been trying to get to the root of the problem. My best friend and I have been joking that it's a result of cocaine and bath salts, but I still wondered what the heck was the matter, really. It just hit me like a 5-ton boulder. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkkIwO_X4i4 That totally explains everything ... I put on my Vikings jersey ... and all my sanity and wits, they have vanished ... I promise ....
  3. Heh ... tomorrow you'll find out otherwise. A Martian is coming to town ....
  4. Heh ... well, I wasn't exactly speaking to you, if that explains anything. 1/2 a vote for Chicken Dinnah, 1/2 a vote for Chicken Dinnah. Fair?
  5. Are you telling me my vote doesn't count?
  6. I'm no Rodgers fan, but, well ... it pays to daaable check.
  7. You're the one with the ability to lock threads down. FTFY
  8. Lol ... I had that written up and waiting to be posted as I watched game 1. Lucky thing I didn't jinx it with that first paragraph ....
  9. After a nice win to usher us into the second game of the double header, the Twins are now officially over .500 this season and half a game closer to the playoffs. Veteran players came through strong today ... Mauer had his greatest antagonists crying "Mauer Power!" as he stepped to and from the plate, and random Twins fans were heard shouting "MVP!" all the way from NY when T-Nutts doubled to drive in 3 runs in the 4th. The youngsters weren't bad either ... the Buck had an RBI single in the 7th and then a solo shot to lead off the 9th. Both times I had just tuned in to see what was up without knowing who was batting. Methinks this should become a habit. Kyle Gibson was strong for 6 innings, and that at least is better than I expected. I just wish he had gone 1-2 more innings so Dave would never complain about him again, but it's okay. Really. http://m.twins.mlb.com/assets/images/3/8/6/150119386/cuts/mauer1280_09vilqma_3v304sqy.jpg As if that wasn't something to think about already, let's make it official: 1. Think about the playoffs – we’ve all been saying this, but I’ll say it again: We’ve got a chance. Do I think we’ll make it? No. However, I will admit that the closer we come to the end of the season, the higher our chances seem. That feels like screwed thinking after having followed the Twins for 4 consecutive 90+ loss seasons, but I guess the reason is that with each win we clinch a lower draft pick. 2. Think about negative positivity – that was an excellent example of it. 3. Think about teams clinching the playoffs off of us – I’m pretty sure it’s happened every year I’ve followed the Twins, yet this year the only team left that can do it is us. Game 163 doesn’t count. 4. Think about Mike Pelfrey – if I had been asked at the beginning of this season how I thought Pelf’s stats as a starter would be, I very well might have said 6-10 with a 4.90 ERA. Pelf, you were a big surprise this year, yet you’ve been no surprise. I like surprises. Please surprise me today. 5. Think about forks – in all honesty, I’ve been trained in quite well. The other day my brothers were threatening my life over the supper table (don’t ask the reason – it's highly classified), and as they all dove in unison for the knives, I calmly gathered a handful of forks and met them head on. Rest assured that they backed off pretty quickly. The Indians will be coming at us with knives tonight, but the question is, will Molitor go for the forks? I hope so. 10. Yes. Though it really depends on whether you're wide asleep or falling awake.

Something I'd rather not think about: http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/2e/ad/7e/2ead7e70b8dcdbad4b307c8f5e700e5b.jpg
  12. Does that mean I get to write 4 game threads this series? Yikes ... not sure I'm looking forward to that. Oh wait ... I have meself an idee.
  13. Don't feel bad, RB. The problem is that there weren't enough options on there.
  14. Haha, great. My answer was "they're sisters."
  15. Now, now, bro, I told you not to take that to your head. Coming from the voice of experience ... you can take one IQ test and you score 160+, and another you're in the 110's. And oftentimes the one which you scored high in had easier questions (well, duh ... ), so scoring high doesn't make you any smarter. I seriously don't lay much store in IQ tests. You can never measure someone's intelligence, and getting the silly questions right or wrong doesn't make you any smarter or dumber. Nor does it prove that you are as smart or as stupid as so-in-so in history who was supposedly smart or stupid. Another thing ... just how smart are the people who make the tests? For instance, I had to make a screenshot when I got this question: See what I mean?
  16. I'm not sure going to the moon is the right choice to make if you're looking to add a few pounds.
  17. Yeah ... I know that ... leave it to you to point it out in a game thread, though.
  18. (Note: If you want to jump in where today's postponed game thread starts, click here.) Tuesday 9/29, 6:10 PM CT at Regressive Field TV: FS-N; Radio: Go 96.3, TIBN, BOB FM Weather: Temperature: 70 °F Dewpoint: 65 °F Heat Index: N/A Surface Wind: N 7mph Sky Cover (%): 100% Precipitation Potential (%): 80% Relative Humidity (%): 85% Rain: Occasional (80%-100%) Thunder: Slight Chance (10%-20%) Lineups: TWINS (81-75): Brian Dozier R 2B Joe Mauer L 1B Miguel Sano R DH Trevor Plouffe R 3B Eddie Rosario L LF Torii Hunter R RF Aaron Hicks S CF Kurt Suzuki R C Eduardo Escobar S SS Kyle Gibson (11-10, 3.96 ERA) INDIANS (77-78): Jason Kipnis L DH Jose Ramirez S 2B Francisco Lindor S SS Carlos Santana S 1B Yan Gomes R C Lonnie Chisenhall L RF Jerry Sands R LF Abraham Almonte S CF Mike Aviles R 3B And what's his name Anderson (6-3, 3.31 ERA) It’s Kyle Gibson against Cody Anderson today – the not so rookie pitcher who is doing his best to show us that he doesn’t perform well in high-stress situations (and to whom I was so honored to be compared during a Cleveland series past), and the rookie pitcher who has gone 4-0 with a 1.98 ERA in 36.1 innings in his last 6 starts since returning from the DL. Looking at the facts, we should not be able to win this game. But we all know that facts don’t really mean anything. If they did, the sun would still be orbiting Earth at the superduperultrasonic speed of once a day – or, to be more exact, once a day would come with each lap around our planet. You know, looking back on history and facts, I wonder how the days managed to stay the same length after we started circling the sun, especially considering the fact that we now spin in circles as we go. I guess when you put it into perspective, it’s easier to understand why they had to add those extra 6 hours, 9 minutes, and 9.54 seconds. Anyway, I digress (that right, Chi? Haha … yes … if I were to regress I would have to do something like actually believe the nonsense I just typed up). What I’m saying is, facts do not matter. Luck is a huge factor in life … maybe we’re lucky that we’re the ones orbiting the sun … maybe not … but it seems as though our respectable forefathers lived comfortably (albeit without baseball) back in the primitive days that the sun circled the earth. Again … I digress and regress. If we want to win this game, we have to go for the luck factor. It’s kind of like playing a game of cribbage against your mom who pretended to teach you all the tricks but neglected to explain how to deal yourself good hands. Therefore, your knowledge of the game is just as superior as hers, but when she deals, she’s sure to get a good hand, whereas you get an exceptionally bad one. Your turn to deal comes, and all you get is a mediocre hand matched by a generally equally mediocre hand for your mom. As long as fate smiles on you and your cribs somehow bring in more points than your mom’s, you just might be able to avoid being skunked. That is, until you learn the art of counting. Once you learn to count for big points and set up your mom to give you big points, you can stay neck and neck throughout the game. The Twins must do that this game … if we don’t master the art of counting, the Indians will win the game before the Twins get to third street and skunk us out of the playoffs. Anyway … sorry for not giving you your things to think about. I’m busy confirming Hrbowski’s previous statement that I’m streaky like Kyle Gibson. Speaking of streaky, let’s hope that Gibson doesn’t express his dismay and disappointment by streaking across the field if he loses yet another game. It doesn’t matter if I do since I’m up in Minnesota and would have to content myself with a high school field, so nobody of consequence would see me. I’m sorry if I used any words out of context this time around … I’m too tired to find them if I did. I also don't want to lose my edit button, and I accidentally posted this after I stuck in the 5 things format and had to start over again. I meant to wait until the lineups went up, but I made a grave mistake that I hope Gibson doesn't mimic. Enjoy the game! Let's go out there and show Thieveland what SANOizm is really all about!
  19. Toodle-oo.
  20. Agreed ... that's pretty much what I was trying to say, but you put it better. I pride myself in being more cultured than most kids my age, and that means being a "fan" of ballet. Whoever says that ballet dancers aren't athletes simply does not know what they're talking about. Speaking of ballet, would it be acceptable for me to compare this complaining about Joe Mauer to those who think that the corps has it easy? Or those that think that the winds should make less money than string players for having to put up with listening to the strings half the time instead of playing with them (and by the way, if they make a mistake they stand out a lot more, so c'mon)? Sorry ... I regress.
  21. No, it's you who are hyperbolizing the situation. So you're upset since Joe Mauer isn't living up to your standards for a #3 hitter who makes $23mill a year, yet at the same time you're aware that he doesn't write the lineup card, he didn't offer himself the contract, etc. etc. Talk about excuses made. Did you ever stop to consider that he was worth more than he made before that contract? Yeah, I'm being ridiculous. But my point is that while it's fine to worry about production, let's just leave money out of the picture, okay? I'm sure this has been said, but I'll say it again. Mauer hasn't changed his workout regimen since he won MVP, yet you're sure that this is the reason for his decline. I'm not sure on what grounds you stand. To be completely honest, I couldn't care less if Joe added ballet to his routine.
  22. No, because that's pretty much been my opinion all along. I think what Willihammer was trying to address was the stance that marijuana is beneficial. Speaking of Coca-Cola, I'm certainly not for criminalizing it, but did you watch the video I posted yesterday?
  23. You are blowing Willihammer's views out of proportion. He is for decriminalization, and while I get your point about criminalizing half the food industry, I think it was a bit uncalled for in this situation. Why not say that to the person who thinks the system is perfectly fine as is? (When they say it.)
  24. Looks like someone's misinterpreting someone ... maybe intentionally, maybe not. But it's not Willihammer I'm speaking of.
