  1. Unless the Twins get aggressive with him he could be a 20 - 30 type prospect going into next year. - not bad for a 15th round pick. If he gets promoted and dominates High A at this level then he could be a 20 - 15 range guy. But if he gets up to AA this year, then yeah he will jump up big time. Remember he is a 4 year college senior striking out guys who are 2-4 years younger and are 2 - 4 years less experienced. So let's wait and see with Wells.
  2. Ryan Eades in AAA! That name is a blast from the past. Just glancing through Twins draft history and I see the last time the Twins got any meaningful production from a 2nd round pick was Kevin Slowey way back in 2005.
  3. I just hope they are not locked into taking a pitcher. If Lewis can play 3B and if they love his bat, I wouldn't complain
  4. Lots of tantalizing guys in this portion but the injuries....oh god it sucks to watch pitchers fall one by one. Stay healthy Ynoa and Graterol! (please)
  5. Thanks Seth! Fun to read. Is it easy to put a previous ranking? Its always interesting to see who you think is rising/falling.
  6. Cool story. If he can harness those tools he could be a fun prospect to watch fly through the org! He will need to make an adjustment because after a torrid April, his numbers are declining. Pitchers must be doing something to him or he is doing it himself. - Perhaps he is trying to figure out pitch recolonization and work counts because he his OB numbers are up, but power is down and strike outs are up. But he is super young, he seems to have the desire to improve himself and has lots of time to figure it out. - Hopefully the Reds kick themselves for not signing him right away.
  7. Did anyone ever say what was wrong with Gonsalves? What exactly is the problem with his shoulder? Is his injury long term?
  8. Agree the more I read about Wright the more I think he is the safest pick with the highest upside. - Unless they think McKay (or someone else) as a hitter is worth the #1 pick. If they took Greene, I wouldn't fault the team for going for it and it would be really fun if he works out. But its a hell of a risk.
  9. Player of the Week? How about the Month? Wade would have to take a nose dive to not win it
  10. I don't think anyone expected Whitefield to be leading the org in slugging %. But he has cooled off in May. So hopefully he can figure out what pitchers are doing different.
  11. Everything about Wade is fun to see. He has a skill set that is rare in the Twins org - 20%BB rate?!? The new FO was aggressive with him and didn't make him "prove it" at a level he was too old for so its nice to see that strategy working. It's good he adapted and is having success. My only question is if he is too passive at the plate. Aaron Hicks was lauded for his plate discipline but it turns out he just didn't swing the bat. Is there swing percentage numbers for minor leagues?
  12. Wades OB% is great - 6 walks in 2 games! Is his approach at the plate passive? Or is his eye that good?
  13. Mitch Garver has only played in 13 of Rochester's 23 games? What the heck is that about? Has he been hurt?
  14. Chris Paul He is having a good start at the plate but his fielding % isn't so great. However hopefully we all know that error rate is a bad way to evaluate guys in the low minors. Wondering if anyone has seen him play 3B in the field?
  15. Wow. Goodrum looks like a man amongst boys up there. thanks for posting that video. Looks like he is struggling in the field at SS. I would like him to get some reps at 3B. There isn't any viable 3B options in they system until you get to FM and find Chris Paul.
  16. Stewart was my "Pick to Click" this year. Travis Harrison was my "pick to click" in 2015 & 2016. I don't know why I bother...
  17. The average age of Cedar Rapid's starting rotation is 23?? Am I reading that right? Yow
  18. Lewin Diaz is heating up a bit after a cold start. Hopefully he can keep it up and improve his on base numbers
  19. Not some sites. Virtually every Site (including the Twin's affiliate that he plays for) http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?sid=milb&player_id=649143#/career/R/pitching/2017/ALL http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa877857&position=P http://www.baseball-reference.com/register/player.fcgi?id=wells-000lac https://www.baseballamerica.com/statistics/players/cards/5920/spring
  20. For the minors, thats true. The good thing about Wells is he is young enough that we can hope he gets some more speed on that FB. Because for most MLB pitchers, if you are under 90 mph consistently you become Tommy Milone.
  21. He turns 22 in 35 days. That is not young for Low A ball. Del Rosario ave'd only 5.1 innings as a starter in 16 games at CR last year. He has to figure out how to get out of these jams or get moved to the bullpen. Also I don't care about wins at Cedar Rapids (or ERA). I care about player development. And its time for the development staff to step in and tell Watkins how to manage.
