  1. Ryan is running the Twins as a small market franchise. He cannot do it any other way. Unfortunately, the small market aspect ends when you step up to the ticket window.
  2. The best part of a season ticket package is the telephone conferences with Terry Ryan. Always insightful.
  3. If you can turn 9-1 losses into 3-1 losses, it would be money well spent. It's just not about win's. The Fans deserve a much more enjoyable product to watch.
  4. I will take Matt Capps over Alex Burnett, any time of the week.
  5. I believe that season ticket sales are tanking and a 15+million payroll cut is their reaction. The Twins required the Season Ticket Holders to place their 2013 deposits a day after the season ended. During the renewal period, the GM made direct promises to this Group and for that matter the general Fan Base. Up to this point, Ryan has made very little effort to fulfill those commitments. This is one reason for much of the bitterness.
  6. The Twins could easily have a 60 million dollar payroll as soon as next year. Twenty one million comes off the Books with Morneau, Pelfrey and Carroll's contracts. If Willingham is traded, that would put the payroll into the 50's.
  7. If Revenue is down, the payroll will not go up. The Pohlad's do not carryover unused cash.
  8. So all the added revenue from Target Field was never really needed.
  9. We are back to being a small Market Team. 30 Million came off the payroll, and Ryan is making the same type of moves that he did with his 30+ million payroll's.
  10. Let's go with the original. The one and only Monty Hall. http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSyx1i8JjBloNw0I2PZvt9I2JHCcsp2hSTjlr5UuBT3_j9eh-oj
  11. So, nobody has a problem sending Mauer and Morneau. Most of the time, these two breeze through a season without injury issues.
  12. So the Twin's are sending two of their injury prone stars, Mauer, Morneau to this Tournament. Is this worth the risk" Who pays their salaries? This is a useless tournament that proves nothing unless you are Japan and Korea.
  13. Breaking the door to Gardy's office didn't help. http://dubsism.files.wordpress.com/2012/09/ax-through-the-door.jpg?w=510
  14. Really, 350 million dollars in cash (not tax breaks) and an increase in the Sales Tax to pay for it. Please enlighten me on the Businesses who have received the same deal in this area.
  15. What other Businesses beg for a large public subsidy to run their operation?
  16. Taking the Twins at their 50% formula, we have returned to the same revenues realized at the Dome. Also notice that during their final two Dome Years, the Twins had some of the highest operating revenue in Major League Baseball. 17. It's just not about win's and losses. It's also the quality and the entertainment value of their product. If the Twins can turn 9-1 games into 4-2 games they need too do it. Three years ago, the Fans purchased more tickets then 26 other Teams in baseball. The fan's were rewarded with St.Peter stating that they could not do it again. Then the payroll cuts started. The Fans pay to much money for the honor of watching a putrid product.
  18. There are thousands of Fans who are spending the Winter sending money to the Twins. Why should we accept a half a** attempt at improving the product. The Fans are not paying Small Market prices.
  19. Are we back to being a Small Market Team? I must have missed the Memo.
  20. Media members such as Darrin Wolfson, have stated that the Twins have made very few Free Agent offers.
  21. Next year, Justin Morneau's 14 million will be coming off the books. This may drop the payroll into the 60's. Very little room available to sign quality Pitching.
  22. I believe that Felton was on the Letterman show.
  23. Well, where back to the out of Town TV deals. The Twin's haven't even used half of their available resources this year. How does the Dodger Baseball network have anything to do with that??
  24. " This can be a hard thing to do when the other clubs are searching for the same thing but (no one is going to try harder than the Twins.") Direct quote to the Season Ticket Holders Is this statement true?
  25. Ryan should be congratulated for cutting the payroll by 30 million dollars. It only took him a year to do so.
