  1. The original reporting indicated five Twins, including a starting pitcher. This list is four Twins, not including a starter. Making some assumptions about the accuracy of earlier reporting, one can draw from a couple conclusions.
  2. Now i understand!!1! Willie Shoemaker has been through desert on a horse with no name!
  3. Huh. Alex Faedo on the mound for the Tigers tomorrow. Didn't even know the former Twins SS made the switch to pitcher.
  4. Nope, Rick Pitino. In Boston. https://www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/5-sports-figures-blame-media-problems/
  5. The Twins have used 25 different pitchers this year, not counting Nick Gordon, barely into June. I think bringing up "minor leaguer relief pitchers" to see what might stick has been tried. Indeed, I'd say building your bullpen plan based on waiver wire pickups and minor league flotsam and jetsom is how you get into this position in the first place. Find external major league help, which won't be cheap, and put your best minor league arms (currently starters) in the pen. And yes...don't trade away your best relief option(s). Cycling through what's remaining in St Paul's bullpen accomplishes nothing. Shuffling deck chairs on the titanic.
  6. Correa wasn't held out for covid reasons. Agree they can't play defense like that and win. The poor baserunning that's been present a lot this year also bit them today.
  7. Thanks as always for the information, Lucas.
  8. Really can't afford to lose Gray. Hope it's nothing. 4-3 homestand. Was hoping for more, could have had more, but at the end of the day, a winning week.
  9. Archer, who has been limited on innings because of having no spring training and pitching very little overall the past two seasons, has really continued to improve as he’s stretched out. I'm not sure I agree with you a hundred percent on your police work there, Sherry.
  10. See, when you cherry pick a couple successful outings you mask the actual problem. Duffey isn't very good at retiring opposing hitters. As demonstrated with statistics. He has subpar stuff and has to rely on breaking balls. About once every third outing or so, he can't locate those breaking balls, and he's toast. That's exactly what happened the other night, and why he can't be left in to cough up the lead. It was obvious the first hitter he faced, if he got through the inning it was going to be luck. He couldn't locate anything. It's not Rocco's fault he has few good pen options. It's ENTIRELY his fault he let one of his poorer options lose a game when he didn't have to.
  11. This felt like a rather important win to me. Perhaps not pretty, but a W.
  12. Maybe do a little better research next time..
  13. 2 on, one out when he pitched to Merrifield. Fourth batter faced.
