  1. Sano really working the count in his first 2 AB's back!
  2. Three nuns were attending a baseball game. Three men were sitting directly behind. Because their habits were partially blocking the view, the men decided to badger the nuns hoping that they’d get annoyed enough to move to another area. In a very loud voice, the first guy said, "I think I'm going to move to Utah. There are only 100 nuns living there." Then the second guy spoke up and said, "I want to go to Montana, there are only 50 nuns living there." The third guy said, "I want to go to Idaho. There are only 25 nuns living there." The mother superior turned around, looked at the men, and in a very sweet and calm voice said, "Why don’t you go to hell... There aren’t any nuns there!"
  3. Molitor's encouraging words for Park:
  4. Feeling good about tonight. Nice warm day [er, 94] for a good start from Santana and a welcome back for Sano.
  5. http://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0535/6917/products/despairdemotivator.jpeg?v=1403275969 Happy, now? Just kidding. I'm looking at some positives: Plouffe has been moved around, playing different positions. When Sano went down, Kepler has come in and is improving at a steady pace. With that improvement and the Plouffe rotation, Sano is now playing 3rd and Park was sent down, which was the right move. Duffey had a bounce back game With the struggles of the starting staff, the bullpen has been hanging in there [ minus Jepsen ] Nunez keeps hitting, but honestly needs a couple days off. He defense is getting worse, from not good I'd like to see Berrios and Meyer get fair shots and, if / when in trouble, get pulled quickly. I don't like what Twins did to them earlier this year. And I'd like to see other MiLB players rotated in this year as a prep for Spring Training next year.
  6. OMG Albert King AND Stevie Ray Vaughn! Thanks

  8. Seems like Plouffe has been dinged up a fair amount this year. I think the Twins moving him between 1st, 3rd and DH has a lot to do with that. Maybe Twins trying to figure out the right place for Sano. Honestly, I don't think the odds are anywhere 90% that he'll be traded: damaged goods /injuries. Jepsen: this is why you don't sign relief pitchers to long term contracts. Last year a savior, this year a bum. Again, I don't think the odds of Jepsen being traded are anywhere near what you think they are: Damaged goods / not good. Eduardo Nunez: I'd keep him. Only because I'm hopeful the Twins will start bringing up some MiLB INF for trial run this year and more time Spring Training and next season. Need a veteran INF that can hit to back them up. More stable defense would be nice. But, if there's a nice offer on the table...... Abad: I'd say more than 50%. I just wouldn't expose him more than they've already have. Suzuki hitting now does make things interesting. If a team has a catcher go down, Suzuki's trade level is more likely to be in the 90% range than any of the others.
  9. What puzzles me is they schedule a T-Shirt Day for Park in the first place, when he's never played MLB ball before this season.
  10. But he'll only miss it just this one time
  11. I'll post this link once again. MiLB players, no matter how high their ranking is, will take some time to adapt to the MLB: http://www.startribune.com/phil-miller-s-sunday-insider-red-sox-show-how-patience-with-prospects-can-be-rewarded/383534181/
  12. Getting Jim Pohlad to make foolhardy statements is like shooting fish in a barrel. Jim's just not experienced in public speaking. Took Sid awhile to figure that out...
  13. In deference to Terry Ryan: So let it be written, so let it be done. sigh, couldn't find a Terry Ryan pharaoh meme. I'll go with this one:
  14. and like good American tourists, Buzz and Neil left a ton of garbage behind....
  15. Well, the other part of player development and the not "throw em in the deep end" idea is somebody has to play that position. If that person isn't currently in a MLB uniform, then you rent the likes of Ryan Sweeney, Joe Benson and Darin Mastroianni et al in the hopes of giving that prospect the time to mature his game. Is that a great strategy? Well, if it took less than 5 years for that player to be MLB-ready, that's pretty questionable, as Buxton was 18 when he signed. Greater depth in the farm system, larger budget and willingness of other MLB players to sign with the Twins are all things that could cure some of the Twins ills.
  16. Defense. That and he is making contact now and that's a start. As opposed to the nice collection of K's he's been collecting up to this point.
  17. Keystone Cops. Twins new 1st baseman and catcher http://www.relatably.com/q/img/keystone-cops-quotes/KeystoneCops.jpg
  18. So the muscle shirt was probably a fake, too? If the guy in the fake muscle shirt has something thats 'pop-up' I don't wanna know....
  19. Not possible. Someone that knows how to read in Chicago?
